Excellent! I doubled the dressing and poured almost all of it on. I also skipped the avocado since I didn't have any, but I'll definitely try to include that next time. I used green onions, though next time I'll use red for color. I will definitely make again.

Just finished eating a huge plate and am so full!! I am on a salad kick and was looking for something new and now I have a new favorite! Pecans turned out great but may add cinnamon to the mix next time for something different. Also substituted balsamic vinegar for red wine vinegar as I had none on hand. Will try red wine vinegar next time for sure! I also used a gourmet maple mustard (similar to honey mustard) that I think I will stick with. It is FABULOUS! I used a spring mix as that is my preference and used a cranberry blue cheese by Rosenborg which worked fantastic with this salad! I had no avacado but will plan to buy some next time! As with all my salads, I prepared each plate individually so the fruit and nuts don't get lost on the botton and so those who dislike something (blue cheese, nuts etc..) aren't forced to eat it! At the end of my huge plate I was expecting a soggy mess, but I was wrong! Perfect until the last bite...and believe me I savoured every one!! Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous! Will definitely make again! I had to omit the nuts so I was sure to keep the avocado so that there'd be some staying power since this salad was our entire dinner. Made the following changes: used 2/3 of a box of mixed greens instead of leaf lettuce, used 3 different pears (great mix of textures and sweetness/tartness), used saga (a Danish blue) instead of Roquefort, used red onion instead of green onions, omitted nuts because of a nut allergy.

Wonderful salad! I have already made this for two events and am going to make again for a small dinner party tomorrow night. I also added blueberries which made a tasty addition.

Loved it! The only thing I would change is to cut the pears a bit larger, maybe quarter slices. I chopped and they tended to settle at the bottom. Christmas crowd loved it and the light flavored dressing (not over dressed like most).

I really enjoyed this recipe. My only suggestion is to wait until the last minute to add the pears. Once I added the pears, the lettuce wilted and made for a mushy salad. I also used candied pecans instead of making my own to save a little time. The recipe is also really great made with baby spinach. A little more hearty and healthy. :)

This was a perfect start to our Christmas dinner! YUMMY!! Everything was perfect. I would not leave out the avocado as many suggested, I really thought that pulled it all together. I did sub Gorgonzola for the Roquefort because my hubby is not a huge Blue Cheese fan. He LOVED it! The dressing was just delicious. Perfect amount for the 2 bags of baby spring mix that I used. I used a high quality olive oil that was infused with garlic and I can tell you everyone was licking their plates. Thanks for such a great salad.

I always like to impress my Christmas guests with a great salad! This salad was..........Fantastic!!!!! First off, everyone wanted to know about the dresing, which was scrumptious! Then, they all wanted to know what was in the salad! I made them guess about the dressing and the ingredients.....I'm so mean!!! It was fun. Everyone went back for seconds. My huge salad bowl was wiped clean with my sister-in-law foaming at the mouth for the recipe.I followed the recipe with these modifications: I used a 5 lettuce blend bag mix from Publix(used 2 bags),used Dijon mustard, and bought Praline caoted pecans. Next time, I'm going to sugar my own pecans! All and all, I felt wonderful impressing my guests! There is no better sound to a lady's ears to hear.......this is so fantastic!! Also, as a side note, even the men loved the salad!! Can't wait to make again. Also. I used Bosc pears!ENJOY EVERY BITE!

Perfect start to our Christmas dinner which also included the beef tenderloin with shallots from this site. I changed nothing in either recipe, and my efforts were rewarded with repeated compliments. The salad is probably the most unique and delicious salad I've ever made.

I made it exactly as directed but found there was too much cheese! Roquefort is pretty strong and a little overwhelming in the salad. Half as much will probably make it perfect. Apart from that, this salad was a winner.
