Ground beef and chopped onions are cooked with parsley and olive oil, then simmered with a pleasing blend of tomato juice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and just the right amount of Worcestershire to give the sauce an extra kick.

This sauce came from a good friend's Italian Mother-in-law. It is easy, and by far the best homemade sauce I know of. Great for both Spaghetti and Lasagna. Pssst...the secret is the sugar! Also, as I am now vegetarian, it tastes great with out the meat! Just substitute two tablespoons olive oil for the beef.

A quick and tasty spaghetti sauce. I make it for my family all the time, and they love it. Spoon sauce generously over spaghetti noodles. Best served with generous portions of garlic toast.

You'll need a stocked spice rack for this sauce recipe! Spicy Italian sausage is simmered with red and white wine and a host of savory spices.

Field Grade Spaghetti Sauce

Submitted by: Poni
The delightful surprise ingredient in this sauce is cinnamon, and I guarantee that it's absolutely delicious! In the military, the term "field grade" is for Colonels and Generals, as in "He's a field grade officer." That's how this recipe got it's name...by being the cream of the crop! It's one of the many recipes I've accumulated as a military wife for almost 30 years. This sauce freezes well.

A splendid marinara is just minutes away when you simmer crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste with garlic, sugar, red wine vinegar, dried oregano and as many red pepper flakes as suits your taste. It's really that simple, and so delicious!
