I had very high hopes for this recipe because it sounded like something I would love. Unfortunately I was not at all impressed it was bland and not tasty. Will not make it again.

a very basic garlic potatoes recipe. Instead of parmesan cheese, I added ricotta; only roasted 4 cloves of garlic and added 4 unroasted, minced cloves; and then just a bit of anise.

These potatoes were awesome! I made these for my boyfriend's entire police squad for Thanksgiving! They loved these potatoes! I made them with red potatoes and left the skins on... Definately a keeper in my recipe box!

The concept of the recipe is good. To me, it is a very basic outline of garlic mashed potatoes - not that there really is much to them...It was good, but did not have enough garlic for my taste. The roasting of the fresh garlic was tasty, but just not enough. I could have just had huge potatoes though!

45 minutes is way too long to roast the garlic! After 20 minutes, the garlic was burnt to a crisp and I had to throw it all out. Otherwise, the rest of the recipe was good.

These were sort of bland. You couldn't taste the paremesean cheese at all. I added a tablespoon of minced onion and 1/4 cup of sour cream to jazz them up. I also used Yukon Gold, which are better for mashed potatoes. They need more butter and less olive oil. Something was just missing.
