This asparagus was not so much roasted, as is suggested, but steamed with the wine, oil and its own juices. The end result was very like canned asparagus, but with a sometimes unpleasantly overwhelming flavor of thyme. Even the garlic cloves came out devoid of flavor. Though easy to prepare, and quick, it was a waste of aspargus.
