Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) link Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. In a large pot cook penne pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.
  2. Meanwhile, remove casings from sausage. In a large skillet cook the sliced Italian sausage until brown. Drain excess grease with paper towels. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and stewed tomatoes to sausage skillet. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and add the half-n-half cream. Cook until heated through.
  3. In a large bowl toss the sausage sauce with cooked and drained pasta. Serve with shredded Cheddar cheese.
