3 cups water
1 1/2 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1/2 cup tamarind paste
1 pinch ground turmeric
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
fresh cilantro, for garnish
Tasted totally sour. No-one in my family would eat it. I would not recommend to anyone, ever. Unless you are fond of tammarind. No seasame at all.
Very good. I love strong flavors, and this was absolutely delicious and was an excellent accompaniment to a chicken curry dish I made. Cut back the tamarind paste a bit if you prefer a less sour taste.
