I have been making this for years but I add some diced onion and garlic to the meat and rice mixture then I brown the meatballs. I remove the meatballs then sautee some green peppers, mushrooms, onions and garlic. Then I add the meatballs back into the pan and add the seasoning packet with the water. Sometimes I like to add a teaspoon or two of Tomato paste to the broth. These additions help make this recipe a 5 star rating. I use rice-a-roni Beef flavored rice. I even add some sour cream to the gravy sometimes.
