'I do a lot of cooking and baking in spring and early summer when the rhubarb is tender,' writes Lorraine Guzek of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. 'This tangy-sweet sauce is delicious over ice cream and so easy to make.'

I'm a retired home economist who loves to make desserts and share them with family and friends. To easily cut this dessert, first dip a sharp knife in warm water, dry it, then slice. --Lucile Cline, Wichita, Kansas

My mother got this recipe back in the 1950's from the minister's wife. It's been a family favorite ever since - even for those who claim to dislike rhubarb.

When the aroma of this sauce cooking wafts through the house, my family can't wait to grill steaks! I freeze this sauce in plastic containers, and keep some refrigerated in salad dressing bottles, ready for use. I not only use it on meat, but I'll also add a dash or two to some soup recipes.

Use this speedy fruit dessert for guests once and you will rave about how much they loved it. Easy and wholesome, the cinnamon compliments the rhubarb. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Rhubarb Jam

A Rhubarb lover's delight! Rhubarb jam, pure and simple, with the consistency of apple butter. This jam also freezes well, but it will probably get eaten up before making it to the freezer! Fabulous!

Rhubarb Pie III

Lots of rhubarb and sugar go into this sweet and juicy pie. Combine the sliced rhubarb with sugar, flour and a smidgen of nutmeg, and pile the mixture into a prepared crust. Dot with butter, cover with a round of pastry and bake.

Rhubarb Cobbler

Chunks of rhubarb are sweetened and cooked along with water and cornstarch until hot and bubbly. This luscious concoction is then poured into a prepared pan, sprinkled with cinnamon, and topped with spoonfuls of yummy dough. This cobbler bakes up in a 9x13 inch pan, so it 's perfect for a crowd. And it can be served warm from the oven or at room temperature.
