This was very good. I made the dressing ahead of time and mixed it in about an hour before serving. This allowed me to add the dressing to taste and also the cabbage was nice and crunchy.

Really good basic recipe. Good as is or to play with to meet your tastes. I shredded my own mix -- red cabbage (half head), green cabbage (half head) and carrots (couple). Also I halved the sugar and it was plenty sweet - but I don't like mine very sweet though. Also, put in a touch of mustard powder and minced garlic. For me the mustard powder eased the sweetness of the sauce. Enjoy!

My family loves this recipe. It has great flavor and is very easy to make. I put the coleslaw in a food processor with the blade in and shredded it fine. It is great and almost melts in your mouth. Marge

Delicious recipe. I made the dressing the night before in Mason jar and left it in the fridge for the flavours to meld. I then added another dollop if mayo before I dressed the cabbage mix. Again, very delicious mix of sweet/sour and creamy, but not a sickly creamy. Just right.

Excellent! Made this for 4th of July. There weren't ANY leftovers. It does make a lot of dressing but next time I'll just add more cabbage. If you have time, shred your own cabbage. It tastes so much better. Thanks for the recipe!!

Very good recipe, I made it for family cookout and everyone loved it. only complaint is that the recipe makes too much dressing, cutting the recipe in half would probably be plenty.

Nicely sweet, but not too much so; nicely creamy, too. I made this to put on Carolina-style hot dogs, but I can see it on a pork-and-slaw sandwich, or at any barbecue. Really nice balance of flavors and crunch.

I really liked this recipe. Only modification I did was to add 1/4 cup extra mayo after tasting the original recipe. I used this recipe and "Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce" to make West Virginia Dogs. Delish!

I Love, Love, Love this recipe!!! It is sooo hard to find good coleslaw ( or even eatable) at restaurants. I've never been a huge fan of KFC's slaw either, this recipe is PERFECTION. Everyone raves over this dish when I make it. I take it to all the cook-outs and family get togethers now. I am the Queen of Coleslaw thanks to this recipe. I highly recommend making this the same day you plan to serve it, as the flavors change when you refrigerate it overnight. I always add extra carrots to mine, the bags of mix never have enough carrots in them + organic baby carrots are so sweet and delicious. I usually use Hellmann's Canola Mayonnaise because it's cholesterol free and no one ever notices! I sometimes use half and half instead of milk (depending on what I have on hand) but you can even omit the milk and just use all buttermilk. Many thanks to Marsha for posting this recipe.

Dang! This is good stuff (and it tastes almost exactly like the REAL thing!)!!! My bf even liked this... WOW! Made a half batch to go with Pulled Pork for Sandwiches by KMB233. I made this around 8 PM the night prior and we had some the following evening (so it sat in the fridge for nearly 24 hours). I used Pearson's homestyle diced coleslaw mix since my local KFC's slaw is also diced, not shredded. To my surprise, the cabbage was still crunchy despite other's warnings about it becoming soggy. I think I'll like this even better after it sits for a few days as I prefer a little less crunch (if it lasts that long - lol!). My only change for next time would be to add a tad more sugar. Other than that, this is pretty much right on! Bravo Marsha :)

This was great!!! I substituted soy milk for the regular milk and buttermilk to make the coleslaw non-dairy. You would never know that I substituted! I also added some craisins (dried cranberries) on a whim. It tasted awesome! We couldn't get enough.

Great slaw! I cut out the buttermilk since I didn't have it on hand. I also cut down on the sugar to a little less than 1/3 cup because I didn't want it too sweet. This turned out great....and I will continue to make it w/o the buttermilk, for me it is not needed. Thanks for the recipe!

Great recipe. I omitted the onion because I didn't feel like chopping it up (it was late at night). It was still great though, next time I will add it. I also used splenda in place of real sugar. Those are the only changes.
