This is a great recipe but I did modify a bit. I use only 1 egg and a sleeve of butter crackers. I use lipton onion soup but only the flakes -- no powder as it makes it really salty. I then add a little ketchup during the last 15 min of cooking so it's cooked for about 1 hr. Perfect every time!!

Ok, I will say upfront that I HATE meatloaf! It's nasty and the consistency is horrible. My wife and family are always disappointed as we never have it since I won't eat it. My wife wanted me to try this one and I must say, it made me a believer! I had two helpings and it was great. Thanks for the recipe!

Wonderful! I have made this several times. Using onion soup mix, real onions and even dried minced onions. Always good.

The idea of meatloaf has never really appealed to me, and since neither my partner or I had it growing up, it never even occurred to us to try it! I came across this recipe and with all the rave reviews, decided to give it a try. Wow. It was really tasty and moist and my partner (who had low expectations and almost ALWAYS limits himself to one serving at meal times) even had a second serving and polished off the rest for lunch the next day. This recipe is definitely a keeper - Thank you!

Another 5 star review for this recipe! Used regular Ritz crackers, on hand, and maybe a little extra cheese (LOVE IT). I did sift out the flakes from onion soup cause DH HATES too salty food. This was fine.. Spread a little ketchup on top before baking. Really good meatloaf.

AWESOME meat loaf. I've made it several times and my hubby keeps requesting it! I usually make a sweeter loaf, but this is a great change. Don't change anything in the recipe!!

I never write a review but I have to review this. I never liked meatloaf because it always tasted like a big meatball to me. This recipe is amazing. The ONLY thing I do differently is to use half turkey, half beef. Too wet? No way, not enough flavor? Ridiculous. The combo of ingredients are perfect. I made this again tonight with guests and they couldnt get enough of it. A great recipe!!

Yummo! This is easily the best meatloaf recipe I've ever made! I didn't have cheese crackers, but used another type, and I didn't have onion soup mix, but used onions and onion powder. I also put a glaze of ketchup, honey, and worcestershire sauce. It was delicious and my dear hubby loved it also!!! Will definitely make this again!

My husband would never eat meatloaf growing up, and was very hesitant to even try this when I made it. He loved it! Thank you! I also added a glaze to the top of mine made with mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar.

I really loved the flavor of this meatloaf. I did not have steak sauce in the house, but I'm not a fan of steak sauce so it tasted fine to me. I used ground breast of turkey instead of ground beef. I added a little more cheese, and I squirted a bit of ketchup on top and sprinkled some cheese about 10 minutes before it was done. The fiance loved it, but maybe I'll ease up on the cheese next time! A keeper for my recipe box :-)

This is the best! First time making it, so I followed it to the letter. It was so moist and flavorful. I even followed Connie Rempel's added advice and sifted some of the salt out of the onion soup, used cheese flavored crackers. My family is starting to think that I'm a great cook!

THe texture is nice--the meat is not chewy. I think what made it this way was the added cheese and crackers. BTW you can't really taste the cheese. My meatloaf turned out kind of crumbly.

This meatloaf is the best I've had. I used half a packet of the onion soup mix, because I didn't feel like sorting out the dried onions. I also couldn't find the cheese flavored Ritz, so I used normal. The only thing I'll do different next time is to double the recipe and make 2 loaves.

I am not a big meatloaf fan, but I really liked this meatloaf. I read Connie's additional comments on her recipe before I made it and decided to adjust her recipe slightly. She said to use cheese flavored butter crackers, but I have never heard of such a thing, so I stuck with regular. She also suggested using only the flakes out of the onion soup mix, but that would just be dried onions. She thought it was too salty with the whole packet. I used half the packet and thought it could stand some more. I love the cheese in this meatloaf. One more thing, I never have steak sauce, so I substituted worchestershire sauce. It worked out nicely. A very good meatloaf, and I would make it again.
