I made this last night by trying to follow the recipe as close as possible with only minor adjustments such as I added 2 stalks of chopped celery and 2 chopped hard boiled eggs. I found the salad to be too dry and too sour upon tossing and proceeded to add the additional mixture of 1 tbsp of sweet relish, 1 tbsp of sugar along with 2 tbsp of milk and 1 tbsp of mayonnaise. Our first bite of this potato salad the next morning left us realizing that the sweet potato has completely lost its natural sweetness and it has fully absorbed the sourness of wine vinegar initially tossed; not even my additional tbsp of sugar-milk mixture helped to salvage the all-too-sour taste… something we not quite prefer for potato salads but the overall taste was OK anyway with minimum fuss in making it! Guess I will have to reduce the vinegar proportion to be way lesser next time and mix it along with the mayo-milk mixture so that equal proportion of taste will be absorbed next time. A 3-star for now… until my next adventure!

A friend brought this to a potluck after finding it when searching the web for "unusual potato salad". This really is unique and very tasty!

I made this before as written and it was good, but I made some changes and it was irresistible! First, I used 1.5 times the mustard/vinegar mixture, used 2 tbsp mayonnaise and 6 tbsp yogurt instead of all low-fat mayonnaise, and used all sweet potatoes. It was really, really good! It might just be personal preference, but I much prefer sweet potatoes.

I had to add sugar to help tame the vinegar flavor for our tastebuds. The colors were pretty, but it was not as spectacular as I has hoping for...3.5 stars for us.

Family enjoyed, nice change with a good flavor, my sweet potatoes were overdone so I'll have to be careful next time. Thanks for recipe!

This was very good, but I wasn't blown over by it. Tasted much like a regular potato sald, but much prettier with the all the colors. But my 20 yr old son went crazy over it - had 3 helpings! I'll make this again.

This was very yummy. The sweet potatoes add a little sweetness, it's a great contrast with the rest of the ingredients. A great twist on potatoe salad. One of the best we have ever had. Will definatley make again. A real keeper!

I wasn't blown away by this recipe, but I definately enjoyed it. I will most likely double the mayonaise mixture next time. Overall, guests were divided.

It was just potato salad. I accidentally bought white flesh sweet potatoes so it didn't look any different. I do enjoy the different flavor with the sweet potatoes and I enjoyed the vinegar mixture. I will make again, but it needs a little kick.

So much flavor and so easy. I sauteed very briefly red onions and garlic, seasoned that, and let it cool while the potatoes did. Used just a touch of milk, then an equal blend of light sour cream and mayo. Threw it all together - probably the best potato salad I have ever made or eaten!

Oh my God! This is so good. I made 6X the recipe for a very large party and plan to serve it tomorrow. Of course, I had to have a nibble first. Delicious. I followed the recipe exactly, but added just a little white sugar to the vinegar mixture. Unbelievable! Thanks for sharing such an amazing recipe. This is a keeper and highly recommended!

Used red bliss, yukon gold, and sweet potatoes. Didn't have red wine vinegar, so I used white balsamic. Didn't have spicy brown mustard, so I used seeded dijon. Even with the substitutions, this dressing tasted wonderful, and the salad is beautiful with the orange and white colors! Garnished it with sliced scallions and brought it to a big party. Rave reviews and not a spec left over! A keeper!

I made this recipe by bulk. Served it with a outdoor BBQ party. It was a hit! Guests even was asked at what restaurant could they buy the potato salad! The sweet potato gave this a different twist. I followed the recipe exactly. I wouldn't change a thing.
