Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Cream Cheese Frosting
Sprinkles or additional garnishes
Tried Presidents choice, Betty Crocker and they could not stand up to this mix. Rarely ever use Cake mixes as I don't care for them, but this was surprisingly very good and had a great flavour. Best mix for both taste and deep red colour. Scratch is always best but for a mix this one is it! Keep a couple at the house for a quick dessert. Adults and children love them. Great job Duncan Hines. Cannot find in Canada. I go to the US to buy it. Come on Duncan Hines! Canadians love red velvet too!!
This was better than the RV cake I purchase at my local bakery. I added 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teas. baking powder, used butter instead of oil, milk instead of water, 4 eggs instead of 3. (the cake mixes are smaller than previous, hence the additions.) The cake was very moist and delicious. I made my own cream cheese frosting because the can frosting are too sweet.
Didn't taste at all like a red velvet cake. I didn't like it at all.
I love this cake! I always use 2 (or 3!!)cans of frosting though..and cover the sides well. It's really delicious. Add a little Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on your plate,and you'll be in desert heaven!
