I make this all the time and everyone loves it!! It's the only potato salad recipe I use. Sometimes I like to experiment though; Last time I used less mayo, added a bit of red wine vinegar and eased up on the onions.

This was the best potato salad! My boyfriend never really liked potato salad until he tried this! He LOVED it! I did use russett insted of red potatos(didnt have red) and did use green onion insted of yellow. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

I used green onions as well, the celery adds a nice kick, I also added a little bit of sauted onions. Very delicious!!!!

This recipe must not be as unique as I thought. It has been in my family for generations as well, exactly this recipe to the tee - item by item.

Okay, so I know this is going to sounds strange but I added about a half cup of pine nuts and omitted the celery. Instead of adding the onion I chopped up some green onions - a lot because I like it that way and made sure the bacon was extra crispy. I see a lot of people used miracle whip - YUCK! I hate miracle whip. so I stuck with the mayonnaise but added some sour cream for a lighter, healthier texture. Instead of red skinned potatoes I used regular brown ones.

Probably a little too much mayonnaise but we LOVE mayo so it didn't stop us from scarfing it all down! Absolutely delicious. I would make this for company but next time will start with a cup of mayo and add more if needed. Also, I wish I had made this the night before because the potatoes didn't have enough time to really soak up the flavors when I served it but the next day the potato salad was so much better. So if you can, make ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge overnight. YUMMY!!

Great recipe. Next time I will be doubling the bacon and decreasing the onion slightly but otherwise great.

This is sooo delicious and easy to make! I used just potato, mayo, eggs, salt, and pepper, mostly because I didn't have the other ingredients. Anyhow, the recipe still came out great. I think this potato salad is best when served warm instead of cold.

Very good - I did use green onions instead of the regular onion and used half low fat sour cream and half low fat mayo. Added just a bit of shredded chedder cheese and some chives and this was wow!

Very good basic recipe. The only changes I made was that I omitted bacon (we had a vegetarian at our party) and added a bit of mustard.

This is the best potato salad ever. The bacon does it. I made it for my in-laws visiting for New Years and they loved it. I am making it for Super Bowl dinner to go with wings. I left out the celery and used a small amount of celery seed - only because I don't like celery. I also used 1/2 - 3/4 cup chopped green onions instead of a regular onion. I suggest making it further ahead so that the flavors have time to blend together.

I love this recipe and now make it quite often.I have to say that the best point about this one is BACON, it complements the potatoes very well, and the whole recipe comes out very creamy and delicious.
