This was so good. Definitely will go in the rotation. Didn't make any changes. Served with jasamine rice and steamed broccoli on the side.

Sooo good!! It's not easy to make a hearty yet delicious vegetarian meal and this hits the spot. For those who said it needed more spice try using a hot curry paste and getting your chili powder from an indian market. It really does make a difference.

I was missing a couple ingredients, so I had to modify the recipe for what I had on-hand, but this was still very tasty and easy to make for a quick, vegetarian dinner on a work night. I'm looking forward to trying this again!

This was really fab! I made very few changes as well. I only added a few more spices (coriander, clove, etc...) and some yogurt at the end. It was great for a quick and healthy mid week meal! =)

I just made this for the first time. The author is right--it IS an easy recipe to make, even though there are a lot of ingredients. And the taste is just heavenly. I can't believe I haven't thought to make my own curry before. If you're a vegetarian or vegan, or if you're just looking for ways to incorporate more vegetarian food into your life, you could do a lot worse than this recipe. Be ready to drop a chunk of change to buy the spices if you don't already have them in your cabinet, but again, those spices will keep, and you can use them in all sorts of different dishes. Thank you for this great recipe!

This is a keeper--healthy, budget friendly, DELICIOUS! No changes needed, recipe has a great balance of flavor as written. Per others suggestions, it goes very well with Jasmine Rice http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Jasmine-Rice/Detail.aspx.

Wow! So authentic!! I totally forgot to add the garlic, and I didn't have any fresh ginger root so I used powdered ginger instead. It turned out soo tasty with so many different flavors going on! But red lentils apparently cook much faster than brown ones, so it was a bit mushy. Next time I will serve it with a plain yogurt and basmati rice to cut the heat a bit. And I will shorten the cooking time of the lentils too. I'm looking forward to doing what another reviewer did and use veg. broth to water it down into a soup for leftovers:)

very good. Although I think you'd need more tomato. I reduced the amt of lentils by half but kept the tomatoes the same. I also sauteed cumin seeds with the onion and toward the end added some english peas. Yummy. This will be a part of our regular rotation.

WOW!! This recipe exceeded my expectations. My one and only complaint(easily remedied) is that it was not spicy enough for my taste. Instead of the traditional "curry" powder from the grocery store, I used garam masala powder and paste. So delicious, can't wait to make again.

This was really great ! I followed the recipe exactly and was so pleased with the results...I think next time I will add some more ginger root and maybe some more spices...I think it needed a little more kick, but I like my food spicy :)

This could be a good recipe except for the excessive tomato puree. It was not bad....just not particularly curry-ish.
