These potatoes are great. I did not add the sugar like everyone said and used milk instead of half and half to make it less creamy. Really recomend them

I am going to try this recipe tomorrow evening with Beef Wellington. One of the methods I always do when making mashed potatoes is to save the drained cooking water and once potatoes are mashed, adding the liquid back in along with enough WARMED milk or cream to the desired consistency. The water is full or flavour and nutrients! I'm assuming that the potatoes are left unpeeled?? I'm also taking the general consensus advice by eliminating the sugar!!

Fantastic potatoes! Left out the sugar as recommended, used Smart Balance instead of regular butter and added a pinch of salt. Note: It took close to 20 mins for my potatoes to boil.

we made these potatoes to go with halibut that was seasoned with dill and lemon ginger green beans. it was a great combination! we did NOT add the sugar or the steak seasoning. red potatoes have a natural sweetness and do not need sugar. we also added a quarter tsp of black pepper and a quarter tsp of white pepper. delicious!

I cut the root end off a head of garlic, drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Roast in a 320 degree oven for a half hour. Then I squeeze the garlic out of the husks mash good with a fork and add to potatoes with butter salt and pepper and sour cream. That is all you need to know about potatoes. No Sugar

Great recipe! I followed the advice of other reviewers and omitted the sugar. This was a really easy recipe. I also halved the butter (mostly so I wouldn't feel too bad about eating so much!) Added a little more garlic. Very good!

If you leave out the sugar these mashed potatoes will definitely become the best you’ve ever had. Next time I’ll add more butter & half-and-half to make them a little (more) creamier.
