Dough is great to work with. I made 5 calzones out of this recipe. Check your yeast date, if it's old proof the yeast. You can find an article of proofing yeast on this website.

This was so good! The dough was so easy to work with and turned out great. My family enjoyed it and it will definitely make it into the permanent rotation. I did adjust the filling to suit my family's tastes but otherwise it was perfect!

Delicious! I make these all the time, but unlike the picture, mine are overstuffed and fat! The key to making this even more awesome is a great dipping sauce. Use your best spaghetti sauce! Also, the dough is really great and can be used for any other calzone recipe of all sizes. Thanks!

I subbed in a cup of whole wheat flour for one cup of white, and made a veggie filling. Delicious!

This was the first time I tried making homemade dough, and it was very easy! Don't let that scare you off. We made several kinds of calzones, but our favorite was stuffed with orange and yellow bell pepper, Italian sausage and pepperoni. Experiment with different varieties when you make this - and make enough to freeze... these make a wonderful day-after lunch!

wowee! you can't miss with this recipe. i made half with only cheddar/mozz for the kids and the other i made according to the recipe. we all dunked ours into sauce and it was just a huge hit! flavorful, pretty, super easy to make, dough was very forgiving and i too will use it for a pizza dough. thanks so much for making calzones our new favorite family dinner!

These were great! Sooo easy and extremely yummy! I use many different fillings when making them; whatever I have in my fridge at the time. I never leave out the ricotta though. And sometimes I substitute mozzarella cheese for the cheddar. My dough and filling makes 4 large calzones.

These were ok, but not as flavorful as I had expected. I used italian sausage instead of pepperoni. I tasted them with and without sauce, and the sauce improved the taste, but only slightly. Sorry, but thanks anyway for the recipe.

Very easy and tasty. I didn't have pepperoni so mine were plain, but next time I want to add that or salami or seasoned ground beef. I did change up the cheese and used ricotta, cheddar, mozzerella, and parmesan. Makes 4 good size calzones. I actually have enough dough leftover to make one more. So, if you increase your filling, it would make 5 calzones.

I can't give this review enough stars. I made small calzones, using a round sandwhich cutter. I made my own changes (ofcourse), I used 1 lb. hot turkey sausage ~ but still added about 1/4 cup pepperoni, added garlic, used cottage cheese instead of ricotta & increased the cheese by about 1/2 cup. They were so delicious & we ate all of them in one night.

This was really good. I made a few changes, instead of ricotta cheese I used cottage cheese, I also used mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar cheese and added some sliced green bell peppers. This is a great recipe and I will make again! Thanks for sharing:)

It was good, it was faster then the normal "pizza dough" I usually make but my husband likes it a bit more chewy. I would make it again because I thought it was good especially because it didn't take me as long.
