As a child, I would go out with my sister and pick wild raspberries. We'd help our mom make jellies, jams, pies and muffins with the berries. Now, I like to make these muffins on weekend mornings when I have a few extra moments to enjoy them with a cup of tea.

These are my favorite muffins because they can be made with blueberries instead of raspberries with the same delicious results. Friends often request the recipe.

THESE delicious muffins were a significant part of the first dinner I had with my wife when we were courting. She's an excellent cook, and that first meal was truly a gourmet's delight. Now whenever she plans a menu and asks for my suggestions, I make sure these muffins are on it. -Robert Luebke, Appleton, Wisconsin

'It took me a couple of batches to perfect these muffins,' writes Stephanie Moon of Nampa, Idaho, 'but my family thinks this version is the best! And since they always gobble them up fast, I have to agree.' TIP: Gently stir the raspberries into the batter, so they don't break apart.

Fresh from the oven, these attractive, delicious muffins make a great accompaniment to any breakfast or brunch. I usually double the recipe because they seem to disappear the minute I set them out.
