It really should have been titled differently. It really wasn't much of a ranch-tasting dressing. It has too much dill. It was really good! But to be looking for a ranch recipe, I'll try something else next time. It served it's purpose though. I was trying to make a good 'steak-house ranch' to dip my sweet potato fries in, and this actually complemented them fairly well. I will make this again, but I think I'll half the dill.

This has a very mild buttermilk taste, but be careful of the amount of dill. Use half the amount first, then add more to taste. If not, it will overpower the dressing. I let this set for an hour in the fridge before serving and overall it was pretty good.

Quick, simple, and tasty. I followed the ingredients exactly as listed with one exception, I used seasoning salt as opposed to white salt. I will definitely be making this again.

This didn't have much flavor. Kinda bland compared to other ranch dressings - I tried to kick it up by adding more dill and garlic - that just made it worse.

We really loved this dressing and It had just the right amount of zip to it and the garlic really made it tasty - used light sour cream and regular mayo though.

OK, i love ranch on everything, from bread to steak, but i absolutely hate the overpowering buttermilk taste a lot of restaurants have. So, I have to tell you, this is an absolute GREAT recipe for Ranch. this has a perfect blend of seasonings, and a MILD (which i prefer)taste of buttermilk. I would only suggest to watch the amount of dill, because dill alone can overpower anything. My whole family wanted to drink this by itself!

The dressing was good, but only after I added a few extras. I added more dill, garlic powder (in addition to the garlic called for), onion powder, ground mustard, salt and pepper. I will use this recipe and doctor it up some more. Thanks for a good starting point for a homemade ranch dressing.

Very good! I used full-fat sour cream and mayonnaise, though. I am a ranch dressing snob who hates the taste of mayonnaise and never buys bottled salad dressing. This dressing tasted so good I just wanted to eat it with a spoon.
