Try these with a 1-lb. bag of broken-up pretzels - thick or thin.

I used lower sodium crackers and the store brand of the ranch-dressing (as the packet showed it had lower sodium content than the name-brand). Using all of the optional ingredients, these turned out WONDERFUL! They are super-easy to make and still had enough saltiness to satisfy a salty craving.

I enjoyed them and they were easy to make but they did not go very quickly at the party. I guess there were too many other tempting items.

This is an absolute staple in our house. I do use a little more oil so I don't have to work so hard getting the spices to coat the crackers.

Everyone loves these, although I never seem to have dill, but always use the lemon pepper, which really perks the flavor. Today, the store was actually out of regular HV ranch dry mix, and I substituted Fiesta Ranch for one batch ... definitely a different flavor, although the original was better. (I'm an oyster cracker "snob" ... the big fat Nabisco ones are much better, IMHO, than the cheaper store brand I've tried.)

Hallelujah! This is the originnal HV Ranch cracker recipe that I had many years ago and now cannot locate! I used the dressing mix in a 'family size' canister where 3 T = 1 packet of mix and ended up sprinkling more of the mix over the crackers in my large roaster pan before baking. Thanks for posting this recipe! I have added it to my recipe box to save for (savor) for ever!

Loved this for years and the dill and lemmon pepper makes it wonderful. My daughter adds crushed red pepper for extra zest.

This are GREAT! I used the "new" mini-saltines instead of oyster crackers. I also increased the dill weed to about 1 teaspoon just because I like :-) Also added a little onion powder for added flavor. Am making another batch tonight!

These were great! I made these for the kids today and they loved them! I used the "dry ranch style seasoning for dip or dressing" from here instead of the packet of ranch. Turned out great!

I've been wanting to try this for a long time. Since I did the marinated pretzles, I thought I'd give this a go next. Only thing I changed was up the garlic powder and add 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper for a little heat. Good recipe. I plan on making this again, since we prefer homemade salty snacks over potato chips.

These are good crackers. I used a little more than half of the dressing mix and it was very flavorful without being too salty. I omitted the lemon pepper. I added these to some other snacks such as pretzels and cashews for a party snack mix.

For some reason there are two recipes for this exactly the same, submitted by the same person, so I'm rating both. These crackers are so good! The recipe is simple and inexpensive. I made these a few days ago just to snack on and I've decided they're on the list for my next get together. I left out the dill weed because I don't really care for dill, I also left out the optional lemon pepper because I just can't imagine lemon pepper with ranch dressing, but maybe it's good. I did add the garlic powder though. I had an 18 oz package of oyster crackers, so I'm not sure if that was 5 cups or more/less. I cut back on the oil a tiny bit and it didn't compromise the recipe a bit. I definitely give this recipe the full 5 stars, which I don't often do!

These were great! My husband used to eat these back when he was a kid and I had never even heard of them. I followed the recipe exactly with the optional seasonings and loved the flavor, but my husband didn't like the lemon pepper, so next time I will leave that out.
