This dressing is restraunt quality. I omitted the dill and added enough buttermilk to make it a little runny for salad. Great on hot wings! My husband loved it.

Too much dill flavor for me the first time I made it but easily adjusted to. Best flavor/consistency with buttermilk added!

This was brilliant, the only thing I changed was fresh parsley and chives. This was so good I am 100% sure I will not buy bottled ranch ever again. I used this on the Cobb Salad from this site and the two go together brilliantly.

I know I may be beating a dead horse, but this ranch dressing is fantastic! I mixed about 8 batches worth of seasoning together and added about 3 teaspoons of the finished seasoning with the cup of mayo and 1/2 cup of buttermilk. I knew this dressing was delicious when I had to go out and immediately purchase veggies just to dip in it, but I had no idea I would be polishing off the whole batch in one weekend. I usually only purchase Hidden Valley Ranch, but this dressing is like a gourmet restaurant ranch and is far superior. I even tried to use up the rest of the HVR I had in the fridge after finishing this and almost gagged at the taste of that bottled stuff. I definitely recommend letting this dressing sit overnight as to allow the flavors to mingle and the dried herbs to reconsitute (if you can let it sit that long!) Truly addicting!!!

I used this recipe to make a dip with blended cottage cheese and buttermilk, for nutritional purposes. It is delicious! I also added finely shredded sharp cheddar to dry up my dip texture and richen the taste, it is a great dip!

Wonderful dressing. It's quite thick, so I had to keep thinning it down to get it out of the container!

We love this dressing! I keep all the herbs & spices mixed together in a jar, when it comes time to make it I just add the spices to the mayo, buttermilk, & sour cream. Usually 2 1/2 -3 tsp depending on how strong of a flavor we want. Either way...its great!

This is better thanHidden Valley Ranch salad dressing. I added a half of cup of buttermilk and it really made a difference. Let the dressing ferment overnight in the refrigerator.

Holy cow!!! I am so impressed. I was out of chives and it was still fantastic! It's pretty thick so it makes a great dip for potato skins or cheese fries. For salads, just add buttermilk until desired consistency. Great recipe!

This was excellent. I used buttermilk instead of sour cream. Added a little extra to thin it some. Will definitely make it again. YUM!

Excellent. Double the spice. If you want to make this non-dairy, use a bit more mayo, and add 1 tsp. of lemon juice to get some tang.

Since I love thick and creamy dressings I thought this was fantastic! Hubby, who isn't a ranch fan, thought this was great too. However, our two year old, who will only eat salad coated with ranch dressing, did not like this at all. This is a very thick dressing, really more like a dip than a salad dressing. I made a few changes due to personal preference; I doubled the garlic powder and the salt. I also used seasoning salt instead of regular salt. I served this over garden salads, with added bacon and cheddar cheese. Yummy!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Loved this dressing. I did follow the advice of others and used 1/2 cup each of mayo, sour cream and buttermilk. I added a little extra garlic and dill. Very tasty. Will definately make this again!

I followed the other suggestion and made this with mayo, sour cream, and sour milk (because I didn't have buttermilk). My little girl can't have gluten, which is found in a lot of commercial ranch dressings. She gobbled this up! Maybe next time I'll try some other mayo combinations. Thanks!!
