Made a few changes (like cooked the veggies with the chicken) but this was a great pick for a cold day!

Good stuff!!! I tweaked it a little-bit by using rotisserie chicken that I bought from the deli at my local grocery store. I also add a large can of cream of chicken soup, a few cubes of chicken bouillon, Accent seasoning, poultry seasoning, thyme, bay leaves (filter thru a tea bag), onion powder, minced garlic & chopped red bell pepper which I sauteed with the celery and onion. I chose to use frozen mixed veg. which had carrots in the bag of course and I added them about 10 minutes after adding the broth to the onion, red bell pepper, & minced garlic. I added the noodles about 5 minutes before it was done to keep them from being overcooked. It turned out great!!!

This is the best chicken noodle soup I have ever eaten! I can't follow a recipe exactly for the life of me, so of course, I tweaked it a little, but it is incredible! This is what I did: Boiled four chicken thighs in 8 cups water until the meat fell off the bones, then cut the chicken into small pieces and discarded the bones. Sauted all the veggies as suggested by Brown Sugar Girl. I also threw in about one cup of frozen chopped spinach leaves for some extra "good green stuff" and iron! Added 6 teaspoons chicken granules and the spices as recommended by Brown Sugar Girl to the water I boiled the chicken in and returned the water to a boil. Cooked three packages of the cheapest, generic "Ramen" noodles I had in six cups of hot water in the microwave for five minutes. Drained them and added them to the pot of chicken and broth along with all the veggies and simmered for about 5 minutes (that is all I could wait!). I then had to go back and make another pot because it was so good that my husband and I literally finished off the first batch for LUNCH! That time I didn't add any spinach because I had used all I had in the freezer in the first batch, but I tripled the carrots and celery. YUMMY! Really, really yummy soup that will definitely be on our weekly rotation!

This is really good, but the recipe as written has at least one can too much broth. We added extra veggies, chicken, and noodles. I also added a dash each of thyme, parsley, and rosemary. Turned out very good and was easy to make.

Great recipe and perfect cold remedy. Everyone is under the weather at home and this soup brought us all the comfort we needed. I did substitute the noodles for a handful of small shell pasta and added an additional handful of chopped green beans in addition to the carrots and celery. I also added a minced clove of garlic to the onion when I sauted it. I only eat my mom's chicken soup because I never found any that measure up to her recipe. Well, if she didn't agree with me I would feel guilty saying this but this is my new favorite chicken soup recipe!

I followed the directions and added the noodles, chicken, and broth all at once and ended up with a very tasty soup with really soggy, mushy noodles. (I also think I added to many.) So I fished the noodles out and remade the them separately as suggested by others, and then added them in. YUM! I can't believe how delicious it is, and I'm so proud of myself for making it. Thanks!

Like mentioned in earlier reviews, I add 1 can of cream of chicken soup as well as 1 clove crushed garlic to the soup. The 2 times I have made this, I used the meat from a rotisserie chicken and frozen noodles from the freezer section of the grocery store. It makes the whole house smell cozy when this is cooking. This will be a regular dinner at our house in the winter months.

This recipe was so easy for my first time making chicken noodle soup. I added fresh minced garlic, thyme and a pinch of poultry seasoning and sauteed all the veggies together. It puts store bought soup to shame. Thanks for sharing.
