I make this frequently and it's delicious every time. I double the amount of noodles (personal preference) and add a bit of garlic. Perfection on a cold winter night!

This soup was perfect...just the right amount of flavor. I didn't have any cooked chicken around, so I just boiled 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts in some salted water until they were cooked through, used the meat and the resulting broth in my soup. All in all, I used 9 cups of homemade stock instead of the 5 cans of store-bought. I also used elbow pasta instead of the egg noodles...my family really loved this! I felt it made more than 6 servings...thanks so much for sharing! This is a winner!

This is an awesome recipe and I did make changes - but very minor! I sauteed the onions, celery, carrots and 2 cloves of garlic in the butter. Then I added the chicken stock - low sodium. Then I threw in an entire rotisserie chicken and let it simmer for 20 minutes or so. I added the basil, oregano and salt and pepper. Then I removed the chicken and then added the chicken pieces back in - threw out the bones etc. After simmering for a little bit longer I added the egg noodles to the soup and turned up the heat to a boil. My husband who is pretty darn picky LOVED this chicken noodle soup! I love a one pot meal and this was delish - next time I will definitely add vegetable broth as I think that will make it even better!!

This soup was a BIG hit! It was easy and delicious. Using what I had on hand, I mixed both, cans of broth and bouillon cubes w/water. Sauted the veggies with butter and garlic then added everything to the pot to simmer for a couple hours (wanted the flavors to really come together). Cooked and added noodles the last few minutes; served. Everyone loved it!!

This is a great recipe. I do not like oregano in soup so I used tarragon. It gives it authentic chicken soup flavor.

This could very well be the best bowl of chicken noodle soup I have ever tasted! It was so incredibly easy to prepare! I used organic low-sodium chicken broth and in place of the vegetable both, I used water mixed with a few cubes of vegetable bouillon. I decided to try out this recipe when I came down with a bad cold, and boy did it work wonders! It made a HUGE pot of soup, which I thought I'd never finish, but everyone loved it so much it was gone within a day!

Delicious basic recipe! My boyfriend was amazed at how I was able to make "homemade" soup that quickly. I used about a cup and a half of rice instead of the noodles.

This was DELISH. I added a tiny little bit of red pepper flake as I sauted the celery & carrots. As others did I also used a rotisserie chicken & I also tossed in a bay leaf as always with any chicken soup. This turned out to be THE BEST chicken noodle soup that I have ever made. THANK U

This recipe IS DELICIOUS! Like others, I made a few changes. I added garlic and sauteed the garlic -onion-celery-and carrots all together for a few minutes. I used a rotisserie Chicken which made it soooo flavorfull! I also used whole weat egg noodles. I created an account just so that I could rate this recipe...I will definately be making this soup often! Thanks so much Mary!

I have made numerous recipes from this site, and this is the first one that I have been compelled to rate. I boiled 2 chicken breasts and added sage, garlic powder, chicken buillion & poultry seasoning to the water, and used that as the broth. I sauteed my veggies and added them to the pot, then shredded the chicken, put it back in, added celery seed and brought to a boil. I let that simmer for about 30 minutes, then added a cup of water when I put the noodles in. It was EXACTLY what I wanted. Thank you for sharing this recipe--this is how chicken soup should always be!!!

Delicious and so easy. I used chopped up raw chicken and just threw it in the soup and let it all cook together. I halved the recipe, but I only had one can of chicken broth so I used that along with water and a half a package of onion soup mix for extra flavor. Really, really good. Ultra comfort food. Thank you! :)
