I didn't think this soup was that great. It seemed to lack flavor and depth--despite the fact that I sauteed the onions (and garlic) and added peas and more carrots. I don't think I will make it again.

Pretty good. I added some potatoes and as other reviewers suggested, cooked the noodles separately. Made a lot of soup.

Very good soup, which will probably be even better tomorrow. As suggested, I cooked the noodles separately and added them at the end. Also as suggested, I added 2 cloves minced garlic which I sauteed with the onion, carrots and celery in butter and olive oil. After about 4 minutes, I threw the spices into the veggies and sauteed them all together. I didn't have vegetable broth, so I used only organic chicken broth, and added almost a tablesoon of Better Than Bouillon. I used leftover chicken that I had roasted last night, using both dark and white meat. My picky little 2-year-old grandson was running a fever last night, so I made this for his "medicine" tonight, and he lapped it right up. Yea! I'm giving this 5 stars for the ease of it along with the very satisfying taste of comfort food.

Seriously, very good! The only thing I changed was adding a tablespoon of Vegeta Soup and Seasoning Mix in place of the basil and oregano. My 15 month old said "mmm" after every bite, my four year old picky eater ate the whole bowl, and my husband had seconds. A big hit in this house! Thanks!

Cook the noodles first and then put them in the soup. I didn't do this (ignored other reviews) and the soup had a definate starchy taste to it. I ended up adding a little tarrogon to cover up the taste. Will make again but with the above change.

Thank you so much for sharing this with others. I have a large family of 12 and we have a few who are sick. I wanted to make chicken soup and this was the one I chose to try and I am glad I did. Everyone loves it! This will not just be made when someone isn't feeling well in our home. I thought is was unusual with the vegetable broth but I assure you you will not be sorry for trying this soup. It is wonderful! Thanks again!

So simple, so quick and so fabulous! (I did add a little garlic to the onions and celery, just a personal preference - I find it hard to cook anything without it...LOL) This is definitely a keeper! Thank you... (Had a feeling 689 great reviews was the way to go ;-)

This was simple and filling. I made it exactly as written using leftover chicken from the slow cooker baked chicken from this site. We'll definately be making this again.

This is great basic, comforting, homestyle chicken noodle soup! Only changes I made were to dice the raw chicken breast and cook it in the soup (just threw in at the same time as the broth) and cooked the noodles separately to avoid the starchy water taste in the soup. Used whole wheat egg noodles and tasted great. Spices were perfect. This is now my go-to chicken noodle soup!

This is a great recipe! I followed the advice of another review and cooked the noodles separately to cut down on starch. Next time I'll add more noodles (maybe 2 or even 2 1/2 cups instead of just a cup and a half) because they were so good! I also left out the celery because my husband isnt a fan - didnt make a difference -it was DELICIOUS! this is a KEEPER!

It was pretty good. Next time I make it I'll add a little garlic and simmer it longer so the flavors blend a little more. I added some shredded zucchini because I had an abundance from my garden. I'm adding zucchini to anything I can. Adds more veggies and the kids don't even notice.
