Good chewy brownie, not too cake-like and not dry at all. I also reduced the flour to 1 c. and added an extra 2 Tb cocoa powder--more chocolate can never hurt! And I halfed the salt, as I do in most recipes. Try this recipe if you want a brownie that is somewhere between cake-like and fudgy.

I too added a 1 cup cocoa and used only 1 1/4 cup flour. And added about 15 min to the cooking time. These brownies were perfect and I don't think they're going to last very long. Will for sure make again. Thanks for sharing:)

I made these brownies on a double date. Decided to add about 1 cup of chocolate chips for some extra chocolate goodness and it turned out great. It wasn't too sweet; the cocoa powder gave it just enough flavor. The texture was a bit cakey and a bit fudgy, but not too crumbly. Everyone who tried them said they were different from any brownies they had before, but LOVED them!

I was super disappointed with these brownies. I was looking for a recipe that was softer than mine, and these were definitely not it. Non only did they bake for almost an hour, they were hard on the edges. At the 30 min, when they should be done, they were still totally uncooked in the center. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in this recipe.

I love brownies probably more than any food, and it's hard for me to give any brownie recipe less than 5 stars. But I must be honest and say that these were not as rich and chewey as I expected after reading the other reviews. They tasted more sugary than chocolatey to me. Mine were not very dark brown either. I would double the cocoa next time. Ok, I had to come back and revise my rating. These brownies were far better the next morning after they cooled. I did use only 1 cup of flour like others recommended since I don't like my brownies cakey. They were cakey and bland right out of the oven, but great once they cooled off!!!

Best I have ever made. I melted the butter, stired in the sugar, stired in the cocoa, stired in the vanilla, and stired in the remaining ing. (sifted together) Will for sure make again.

As written, this recipe is very very dry and too cakey. I, like many others, use only 1 cup of flour. I also sometimes use 3/4 c. of sweetened coconut, 3/4 cup of chocolate chips (Nestle's swirled white and milk choc. chips are fab!), and 1/2 c. chopped walnuts! Fabulous German Chocolate cake like brownies!

this was really quick and to make it even quicker I used 1 cup veg oil instead of melting the butter. Also used 1cup flour and three eggs and this came out well. Will try to make as is next time to really rate this.

I used 1 cup of walnuts, an extra teaspoon of vanilla essence and I baked it in a smaller pan so that they became thicker. I had to cook it for approx 25 min longer due to the thickness of the brownie, but the outcome was divine. I topped it with a milk/dark chocolate ganache and sprinkled chopped walnuts on the top. A generous dollop of vanilla whipped cream topped it off! Great if you're a nut fan and a definite keeper in my recipe box! My husband LOVES it!

Surprised by how good they are, considering the ease. Used 1 c flour, 1/2 c butter, 1/2 c applesauce and left everything else. It has a strange wet coating on top, but it kind of adds to the deliciousness.

Perfect brownies! Followed recipe exactly except I cut the flour to 1 c per other reviews. My boyfriend LOVED them, and he hates sweet stuff. He took them to work today and they were devoured. Just the right amt of fudginess. Thank you for this great recipe!

Some of the best brownies I've had. I love gooey brownies, so I cut the flour to 1 c like the other reviewers stated. I also don't like nuts in my brownies (and was making them for a group that included a tree nut allergy) so I left those out. I dusted with powdered sugar like in the picture. It wasn't clear from the recipe whether I should mix the ingredients in one at a time or all at once, so I did them one at a time. I would estimate that this recipe is almost as easy as a box mix.

These brownies were a genuine hit. Like some other reviewers, I only used 1 cup of flour instead of the 1 1/2 the recipe called for, and the brownies turned out great. If you like your brownies on the dryer side, use the full 1 1/2 cups, but if you're like me, and like the gooier brownies, use 1 cup. This is now my go-to brownie recipe!

I knew these were going to be awesome when the batter was so good I wanted to drink it! I made a half batch and followed the recipe exactly (with the exception of adding more vanilla because I always add more vanilla to everything)and they turned out just fine. I made them in a 8x8 glass pan. These were sooo easy and sooo delicious! As others have said, I will not be buying brownie mix again because this was way too easy and so much better!

I added less flour as the other reviews suggested, but they still weren't fudgy enough for me. Overall they had good flavor.
