very tasty! I was going to buy a box of brownie mix, but this was easier. I had to bake for 50 min, in 8x8 pan to cook them though. I also did only 1 cup flour, & added some chopped pecans. Definitely a keeper!

I made this brownie for my kids confirmation class this past week and all the brownies went. This is more of a cake brownie, which I like more, vs. a fudgy brownie. I will make this one again.

Really good, for the cake type brownie. My kids made them with me and so easy for them to do. MY husband loves the other kind better.

We used this recipe in a cooking class as an example of how to find and use recipes on the internet. We followed the instructions exactly and everyone loved them. We give it 5 stars. What a great lesson for my class.

These were ok. I am giving it 4 stars because I can't follow the exact recipe- I had to use shortening instead of butter because of a dairy allergy. I also omitted the nuts b/c of an allergy. I used 1 c of flour as others suggested and still found it to be too cake-like. This could be due to the shortening though. I also didn't find these to be the fudgy, chocolate taste that I love in brownies. Again, this could be due to the butter being left out.

These were pretty good and very simple. I am a real novice at baking, but I found these brownies to be easy to put together. I also used only 1 cup of flour, which gave them a great fudgey texture, and I left out the walnuts as I was baking for a large party and wanted to avoid nut allergy issues. That being said, it seemed like something was missing. If you decide to leave out the nuts, be sure to add more cocoa powder or maybe even some chocolate chips to give the brownies a fuller flavor. However, even though I thought they were lacking something, they were a big hit at the party!

YUM YUM YUM. Works great in 2 8x8's. No topping necessary when you're using 2 sticks of butter. Just a nice big glass of milk :)

These were sooooo good! Nice and chewy and fudgy just how I like them. I also reduced the flour to 1 Cup as others instructed, and added peanut butter chips. WONDERFUL RECIPE! These will be my go to brownies from now on.

I will NEVER buy boxed brownies again! Followed the recipe exactly, maybe I put 1/8 of a cup more of chocolate in it, but otherwise followed to the tee!! And wow, these brownies are so yummy!! So simple, but they taste like HEAVEN!! I love the butter flavor! Thanks for sharing!!

I haven't tried to make this yet, but I'm going to do it right after this. I love how it doesn't take a cake mix. That's the best part, I think. Great recipe!!

Mine took FOREVER to bake. I had it in a 9x13 pan and it took about an hour to bake. However, everyone did love them! Though my ended up having a hard, crispy top layer...? It didn't take away from the taste at all, but I don't know why that happened and I don't think that was SUPPOSED to happen. Though all the same, I have been asked to make them again a couple times!

This is an excellent recipe, easy to prepare. I sometimes change the nuts to peanut butter chips or chocolate chips or do both. I am planning on making some for the holidays with white chocolate chips. My 12 year old says these brownies are famous and he tells me I have to make them whenever there is a potluck or community event. I won't buy boxed brownies ever again.

This was NOT quick or easy. We followed the recipe and put only 1 cup flour like so many other reviewers suggested. It has taken over an hour to bake because it turned into a lava-type mixture, and now we are left with burnt chewy tar. We now have to resort to chocolate ice cream for desert and will NEVER follow this recipe again.

As written, these are pretty tasty but I'm going to take the other reviewers' suggestion next time and cut the flour to 1 cup. Hopefully that will make them less cakey.

Decided wanted to try a new brownie recipe, won't make that mistake again, I followed the recipeminus 1/2 cup flour, this is non rising cake, not brownies. the batter should be thicker, darker in colour, I will give this to my grand kids but not to guests. Not brownies...this is cake
