Yummy. Added only 3 eggs, 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup applesauce and cut down the flour to 1 cup for less cakey like brownie. Also used brown sugar instead of white.

I've had better, but this is really good. i have experimented with this recipe lots of times and it turns out perfect every time. I would use 2 tsp. of vanilla extract though. It gives it more of a kick.

If you want quick and easy brownies try these little goodies.

This extremely rich. I used the full amount of butter, but only 1 cup of flour. Next time I'll use 1/2 cup of butter because it made it almost sickening with the amount of butter that was in it. They are definitely the way a brownie should be, but very very rich. Don't need icing at all with this recipe. Very chocolaty..very moist...and very rich!

I used only 1 cup flour as recommended. They were ok, a little on the bland side for me, I like rich, fudgey brownies. They were good average cake-like brownies.

I've made these twice in two weeks, and here are my tweaks: used 1 & 1/4 cup flour and only 3 eggs, to reduce the 'cake-like' texture (oh, and 1/3 cup of that flour was whole-wheat: I try to sneak it into as much as I can:);I added 1 cup choc. chips; and, as I was making these I was on the phone (bad idea) and forgot to add the second stick of butter, so with only 1 stick & no additional oil or anything, they were really good- did not miss the extra butter!! Oh, and added 1 cup ground walnuts. Great brownies, and not as horrendously decadent as they might have been! 9/9/09 I make these every couple weeks now- so fast & easy! I discovered that adding a scant Tbls of instant coffee really kicks up the chocolate flavor. And, since some of my family don't like walnuts, I skip them and add 1 cup chocolate chips!

Very good homemade recipe. I usually like the mixes better than homemade, but this was good. Could be more chocolaty for my liking, may try adding some chocolate chips to the batter next time. I put some Heath toffee bits on top after it baked for about 10-15 minutes since my husband doesn't like plain brownies. Thanks!

Yummy! This recipe is exactly what I was looking for in a brownie: chewy and rich! I always thought the box brownies were the best until I discovered these. I followed the suggestion of other reviewers and used only 1 c flour. I also used 1 1/2 c white sugar and 1/2 c brown sugar. I sprinkled them with powdered sugar after baking (25 minutes was the perfect baking time) and they are fabulous!

This was a huge hit in my house. My family loves brownies so I was skeptical. It turned out great. I cut the butter in half and replaced it with applesauce to make it more low fat friendly. No one noticed the difference! Thanks!

this was an awsome recipe to make in a short amount of time. i didnt foolow the exact recipe. instead of 1 1/2 cups of flour, i put 1. and instead of leaving it in the oven for 20 minutes, i left it in for 40. it took me about an hour to make it. nice and easy. i reduced the amount of flour, because it looked and tasted better that way. try it and trust me. you wont regret it.

Wonderful. I just ruined my dinner with these. I used Hershey's Special Dark Dutch Processed cocoa, purchased in my last town. Hope I can buy it in my new town because it made these brownies incredibly dark and chocolatey. I used less flour and more cocoa and added pre-toasted pecans.

I just made these for a bake sale and they are perfect! I reduced the flour as many suggested (I used 1 1/4 cup) and added chocolate chips. They cut easily and were the perfect cake-like consistency to make into individual pieces to bag.
