I loved this recipe. I read through it and added my own touch. I added the butter with garlic powder and cut up some garlic cloves as well, added cream cheese, then milk (about half what was called for) I then added salt, parmesan, and seasonings. I also added ricotta cheese and fresh parsley. It was wonderful!!!! I baked mine and made a little extra sauce to pour on when the baked pasta was done. Delicious.

great sauce! I added some salt. While I melted the butter, I sauteed some diced sweet onion, green and red bell peppers with dried basil before I added the cream cheese. I steamed some broccoli and tossed it with chicken and angel hair... awesome

OMG! Easy and delicious recipe! I added a large grated garlic clove to the butter and used low fat cream cheese. I added salt, pepper and a dash of nutmeg. Mmmm. That was perfect!! But then I thought, since I have alot of fresh basil growing that would be a great addition. I was right! I threw about a handful in. Uhhhhh, SO SO GOOD!

This recipe was great because I had all the ingredients available - and it allowed for easy modification to make it my own. I used 1 T of minced garlic instead of the powder to the basic recipe. Then, after it was heated, I added two slices provolone cheese, two cubed chicken breasts and a half-pound of left-over baby bella mushrooms that I had sauteed in butter, onions, and garlic. It didn't come out as creamy as some alfredos, but I like that the sauce remained saucy (instead of paste) as it got cooler in my plate while I was eating.

This is definitely quick and easy and way better than any store bought brand, even the pricey ones. Still not 'real' alfredo. My parmesan clumped a little, maybe my sauce was too hot when I added it? Otherwise, the flavor was great and I will try this again. I did use fresh garlic added to the butter and some fresh basil at the end, a very good versatile recipe.

Excellent! I followed the great advice of another reviewer. I used 2 cloves of minced garlic and mixed that in with the butter. I also used 1 1/3 cups milk, 1/2 container parm. cheese, black pepper, a few grinds of sea salt, and oregano. SUPERB! I will never have to buy that nasty jar alfredo again! I've been looking for something this good for a LONG time and I LOVE it! I added grilled chicken and broccoli - mmmmm.

This is great! I tossed with some gnocchi for my fiance's birthday dinner along with veal parmigiana. The only complaint, it makes a LOT! Next time I'd cut back to half or even a quarter of the written recipe. It seriously makes like 5 cups!!

Wonderful, easy, and quick! Just make sure you're there to keep stirring it so it doesn't burn. Goes terrific with pasta+chicken!

I was really excited about making this, but it did not end up as I hoped. I followed the recipe and took other people's suggestions on how to make it better, but it was still not what I wanted. Maybe it was the cheese I used.....

This was so easy to make. Delicious! It is now my favorite alfredo sauce recipe. It says 4 servings, but it's more like 8. I doubled it for our large family and still had leftovers for several more servings.

First let me say that with a simple recpie like this out on the web, it's a surprise that most restaurants I get alfredo pasta from are unable to really deliver on the flavor. This recipe does just that! It was full of flavor and was so simple to make. A couple of things I will do differently the next time I make it though: 1) I will probably make it thinner while on the stove (by using more milk for desired consitency). What I didn't think about was the fact that after I poured it over the pasta and chicken it would continue to thicken quite a bit. By the end of the dish it was a little thick and dry but the flavor was still there. #2) I will probably start this fairly later than the pasta and chicken. This recipe was so easy that it barely took me 10 minutes. Leave this piece for last when making pasta and/or chicken. Other than that, it was delicious. I am happy to say I can make my own homemade alfredo sauce now. I probably will not order alfredo when I go out to eat anymore because it is rarely ever this delicious. Another good find on Allrecipes. Thanks Dawn.
