I like this sauce.... but it doesnt taste like alfredo to me and thats why it doesnt get 5 stars. I may have done something wrong though I read the directions over and over and cant see what I might have misunderstood. It just wasnt spectacular.

Have been making it this way for years and my entire family loves! You can take away some calories without reducing flavor by using lowfat parmesan cheese and lowfat cream cheese. I also add a couple teaspoons of Italian Seasonings for good flavor.

My 25 yo son didn't tink it was possible to make a good alfredo sauce. as I was melting the butter and cream cheese, he was reading the directions and adding ingredients as directed, he was still skeptical. I used a little more cheese than directed, but he loves it!! The recipe was easy and delicious.

This was easy and tasted ok. I am a salt freak so I had to add alot and the garlic powder wasn't enough garlic flavor for me. I did add some extras to this recipe. (shrimp, sun dried tomatoes, red pepper). Overall was easy and good.

We tried this for dinner tonight...what a great sauce! Creamy, though I added a lot of garlic since we love garlic! I used lowfat evaporated milk, and half the cheese called for. Easy, yummy, and a sure hit! Thanks for a great recipe.

This is an excellent alfredo sauce that is easy to make and delicious. You would never guess that it is made with cream cheese. There might be a little too much garlic powder for some. Thanks for a great recipe!

I LOVE this sauce. It's creamy, easy and delicious. I used fresh garlic rather than garlic powder, and sauteed it in the butter before adding the cream cheese. I also took some reviewers' advice and added nutmeg, oregano and basil. It turned out wonderfully.

I've used this many times now, and everyone loves it in my house (me, husband, 2 small kids). It's super easy to make and tastes oh so good! If it looks too lumpy in the early stages, don't worry, once you add the milk, it smooths right out. Yum!

I have a 6 year old and 12 year old who want to eat at Olive Garden every time we ask where we're going for dinner. They love this recipe and beg for it weekly. I had been using a different recipe that called for heavy cream, but found that the cream was not only more expensive, but left a filmy texture when eating it. We don't notice the separating of the butter as much with this recipe, and I use real butter. Overall for the ease in cooking, the handiness of the ingredients and the taste, it's definitely one of the top 5 in my recipe collection.

Very good and easy. However, I like to use fresh pressed garlic instead of garlic powder. I sautee it with the butter. I added shrimp to the sauce at the end and then stirred in some cooked penne pasta. Yummy.

Excellent & very easy sauce. I chose to use a double boiler instead of direct. I also added about a cup of shredded low fat mozzarella. I cooked whole wheat penne pasta & after draining, tossed that with 2 cups of diced leftover roasted chicken and 1 cup of leftover green peas. The alfredo sauce I poured over the pasta mixture in an oven proof casserole. Baked at 375 for about 20 minutes to just toast the top. My husband says this is an absolute favorite from now on.
