I pulsed two cups of fresh basil with two teaspoons of fresh minced garlic in the food processor and then added it to the simmering sauce. YUM!

i agree this is quick and easy, but i only had 1/3 fat free cream cheese in the icebox, and figured i would try it...i just wanted everyone to know...go fat...because this left it grainy for some reason!

quick and delicious. I halved the recipe and used it with a bag of tortellini pasta. Next time I might add a bit more milk, it got a little thick towards the end of the meal.

I used this as pizza sauce and it was fantastic. The cream cheese really does make a difference for this sauce. LOVE IT!

I was wanting to make alfredo and this was the perfect EASY recipe. Make some vegys and chicken and you have a great dish! I also added some red pepper to give it alittle kick.

Used FF 1/2 n 1/2, 6 oz of light crm cheese (was afraid it would be too heavy crm cheese taste with 8oz. I am glad I only used 6oz), 3oz of reggiano and 3 oz fresh grated parm. I added 2 cloves of fresh minced garlic and a pinch of nutmeg (an essential in alfredo sauces)

It doesn't thicken up on its own very well. I usually sprinkle cornstarch in it until it thickens. The taste is very good.

Use fresh garlic cloves for best results. Low fat cream cheese works just as well.

I've never been a real fan of alfredo, but decided to make it to be nice to my husband. I did follow many suggestions from other reviews and added fresh garlic and nutmeg. I also add mushrooms, shrimp, and chicken from the grill. This turned out fantastic, and I am now an afredo fan!!! Thanks for the recipe.

My sister-in-law made this for a family dinner and I found it to be better than any Alfredo I've eaten in an Italian restaurant. Fabulous recipe!

Great sauce for when you are in a pinch for a quick meal using ingredients we normally have on hand. Not quite restaurant quality, but much better than the premade sauces! Not "cream cheesy" at all.

I wasn't too sure about this recipe but it came out great. Tasted pretty close to restaurant-quality alfredo sauce. I put a touch of pepper and the tiniest bit of nutmeg on the top and I thought it helped bring out the flavor, but the sauce was great exactly as the recipe makes it. Easy too!

Wow, very very good. This is a quick fabulous sauce, just what I was looking for. No cream cheese taste just very rich yummy's. If it seems a little too loose, it does thicken as it stands or if you prefer, just add the milk 1/2 cup at a time until it's thick but not yet too loose to eat right away. My family loves this stuff.

I'm always looking for good, quick, and easy; in that order. This was terrific! I added a glove of minced garlic (might be too much for the faint of heart) with the butter/cream cheese mixture. Once complete, I added about 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound of shrimp that I had cooked and shelled, prior to making the alfredo. My family loved it! This is a keeper! I couldn't believe how simple it was! Any novice cook could definately impress her (or his) most particular guest!

This recipe is so easy and tastes so much like the real thing. Many times the 'real' alfredo sauce I make turns greasy. This was so creamy. I agree that no one would ever know it had a cream cheese base. I added a little nutmeg and it made it taste like any restaurant's alfredo sauce.

This sauce was so good and so pain-free. I made it for Shrimp Linguine, to have a thicker sauce and it tasted delicious.
