This was so easy! I really wanted a recipe that didn't call for shortening, and this was perfect. It spread beautifully. My only complaint is that I should have made it a bit stiffer for the piping - next time I will set some aside before I add the milk. I doubled the recipe for my layer cake and used coconut milk and coconut extract and used it for "Coconut Cake IV". Everyone loved it - thanks for such a quick and easy recipe!

In a pinch I quickly whipped this up and it was divine! Reminded me of the icing on the cakes from the expensive bakeries. Will keep this one!

Wow. This is a great icing. I followed recipe exactly and it made my cake taste even better. I made a little einsteins cake for my daughter's birthday and froze the frosted cake in a cardboard box 2 weeks prior. I used a color paste to color the icing and it was perfect!! I am letting my kids decorate their own cake using this icing. Also, use REAL BUTTER like land o lakes. DO NOT use shortening or margarine. Wonderful!!!

This is a wonderful easy recipe that will make any dessert taste great. I used this for sugar cookie frosting but will be using it for cakes as well in the future. For the cookies I doubled the recipe and it was enough to cover about 5 dozen large sugar cookies (by kids so probably used more than was needed for each cookie). The kids all loved it and it was creamy and easy for even a 3 year old to spread on cookies. I may try adding a bit of peppermint extract next time to add some holiday flavor but it was great just as is. The only concern I have was with the coloring of the frosting. I used food coloring but frosting colors would make it much more vibrant.

I messed this up because I didn't have enough butter and substituted butter flavored shortening. Taste was fine but didn't the yield was a little light for a cake. Over all nice texture and flavor, however net time I will not skimp on the butter and I think this would be ideal

This was the lightest fluffiest frosting I have ever made at home. It was as good as the bakeries use for sure! I used this for soft sugar cookies and it made them over-the-top great, but truly this would fabulous on a cake. I will have to remember this one the next time I need birthday cake frosting, this is that special. This dried perfectly for stacking decorated cookies too! Thanks, this is awesome!!!

I didn't like this recipe at all. I followed it exactly and made it twice as I needed a lot of icing. I was looking for professional icing like you find in the bakery, needless to say I was very disappointed.

It was really runny, probably because I only had spreadable butter, so I ended up adding way more sugar than the recipe says. As a result it tasted too sugary. I added cocoa powder to cut the sweet and it made a nice chocolate icing. I saved some of the running icing and it made a nice drizzle. The flavor was really good, so I am sure real butter would have fixed everything.

After reading the reviews, I was excited about the icing, but the end result is your standard buttercream. I was a little disappointed, but maybe that's my own fault for psyching myself up for it. It's good icing, but not phenomenal.

Great texture and super easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly and it was a tad too sweet for me. I will make it again though, and try with a little less sugar.
