I don't call these whoopie pies. They came out flat, slightly crispy and tasted like a cookie. I even tried not cooking them as long and lowering the temp. I didn't like the filling at all. I was looking for a PUFFY whoopie pie recipe because I lost mine. They did have a nice flavor, just not what I had in mind. Two stars because my 12 year old loved them, but I wouldn't make them again.

Follow this word for word & it's perfection! If you don't flaten your cookies a little, they stay very puffy & don't cook all the way thru(learned from experience:). I didn't think the filling was sweet enough by itself but I tried it all put together & it was PERFECT!! I'll be using this over & over-Thank you!!!

These were soo good. I kept saying they were called "What dreams are made of" I added twice as much cinnamon and a teaspoon of nutmeg for a more spiced flavor. I also sprinkled about 1/4 teaspoon of sugar+cinnamon mix on each cookie/pie before baking .. YUM! Note you do NOT need to double the filling recipe like some other whoopie pies I have made. I think I'll use this filling recipe again instead of others.

Wow! That's all I can say is wow! Amazing. So worth it. These were the hit of our pumpkin carving party. The response everyone had when they took a bite was "Oh my God!"

Great recipe! Very easy and everyone loved them! I loved these as a kid when my Amish neighbors would make them. Now I can do it too.

I really liked the "cookie" part... it isn't too sweet, very nice. Bit cake-like, but it is nice. The filling is a bit off to me. I'm not sure what it is. I will probably do these again, but try a different filling.

These are delicious. They come out of the oven in just about the same shape that they went in so keep that in mind when baking. It says they serve 24, but I only get 12 pies out of it. This recipe is yummy though! It's a keeper.

My 5yo daughter and I made these yesterday afternoon. We followed the recipe but our cookies didn't turn out cake-like. They were flat, although they were soft. I was disappointed with the final product. They remind me of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies, with a hint of pumpkin flavor.

I really like these. But I HAD to make a few changes. I had already started making these when I realized I didn't have any flour (and I didn't have the car to run and get some). Silly me. So I used half wheat flour and half cake flour and omitted the powder. The cookie part was super cake like and soft, which was perfect for me. Then for the frosting middle part, because wheat flour and cake flour would alter it too much with the heating, I feared, I just used the filling recipe for the other pumpkin whoopie pies with the egg whites. Now the filling part wasn't that great to me. I thought it was too sweet and didn't do much to enhance the flavor of the pumpkin. So I'll try a cream cheese filling next time I think. Overall, tasty fall treat.

These are super moist. To make them even better, try making them with cream cheese frosting II from this site. My friends and family like these better than chocolate and so do I.

I was looking for a recipe after getting some of these Amish Pumpkin Whoopies in Shipshewana, IN. This wasn't nearly as good, but they weren't bad either. I used fresh pumpkin, white whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 tsp more cinnamon, and 1/2 white sugar (not by choice). Not too sure about the filling. I think I would try a different one next time. But, everyone ages 2-87 liked them!

These are really good. The filling is the best part! I've never had a whoopie pie that I enjoyed quite like these. My whole family loves these. I chose this recipe over all of the other recipes because the filling didn't use egg. I wasn't keen on eating raw eggs. I'm glad I chose this one. My only suggestion for this recipe is to grease your hands when you shape the mix. It gives them a nice, smooth top which is nicer for appearance. I wouldn't change a thing about the flavor though. A+
