Loved it. I added like suggested the cumin, chili powder, and cinnamon, and allspice. Thin it out with chicken broth. Taste great!

This looked intriguing; I'm always on the lookout for "different" chili recipes (I'm not much of a red meat person). I agree with other readers that it was a little bland, but I had some leftover pinot noir, so I added about 1/4 cup and a shake of Tony Chachere's to thin it down some and add a little "poo-yie"!. It was better the next day; the flavors had a chance to blend more. I'd up the chili powder and other seasonings just a bit, depending on personal taste. All in all, a good recipe to experiment on.

I actually made mine vegan, so instead of using turkey I added a can each of black beans, chickpeas, and kidney beans and some celery. I served it out of a hollowed-out pumpkin (allowing guests to add their own sour cream and cheese) at my scary movie party and it made for the most beautiful chili ever. This is definitely a new staple.

I found the original recipe to be incredibly bland. I doctored it up quite a bit... more chili powder, some cumin, cinnamon, a few spoonfulls of the sauce from a can of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, and more salt. With the fixes, I would definitely make it again. The pumpkin is a nice touch.

A bit bland for my tastes, but adding more chili powder, some Tabasco, and some diced jalapenos, it was great!

This was good but I had to keep adding spices to it because it was bland. I also added black beans and corn to it. It came out really thick and I wish I had either bought an extra can of tomatoes or some chicken broth. I didn't have either so I added some of the juice from a jar of jalapenos.

Super easy to make. After reading the reviews, I added a can of diced green chilies and some habenero tobasco sauce to give it a little bit of kick. Great flavor!

This is EXCELLENT! I took another reader's suggestion and added black beans, corn and cumin - for those skeptics out there, you can't even taste the pumpkin, but it definitely gives it that "something extra" and the texture is hearty and comforting. I like my chili on the spicy side, so will add some cayenne pepper next time. ENJOY!

This was amazing! I agree that on its own, it's a little bland. I added a small can of corn and a can of black beans, rinsed. I also used about 3 palm fulls of chili powder, a tsp of ground coriander, a tsp of ground cumin seeds and about a 1 tsp of cayenne pepper. Thick, hearty and delicious!

Great recipe starter. I omitted the bell peppers and added corn, black beans, and picante sauce. Instead of pumpkin puree, I used a 29oz can of solid pumpkin. Delicious!

I make a lot of chili from my own recipe;this is one of the better ones I've tried from another source. I made it as is with the exception of: for ease of prep, I just browned the turkey and threw the peppers and onion in with it and let it cook for awhile before I added the other ingredients; I added some cayenne for a little more heat; I put in a can of drained kidney beans just because they were in the pantry-I'm sure it would be good without them. Also, when cooking with herbs, spices, chili powders, etc., I put them in with the browning meat or sauteeing oil because the direct intense heat helps them release their oils, adding more flavor to the finished dish. Thanks for posting this recipe-I really like finding new ways to use pumpkin without putting it in a dessert!

Wow, this is good! I used fresh pumpkin, right out of the oven and lightly mashed. As stated, I think I'd have to agree it was a little bland (but there's something to be said for that if you're feeding kids or folks who aren't into the spice of some chili recipes). I added a couple teaspoons of cumin and a can of black beans. I also had to add some liquid as it was too dry for my liking, so I added about 3/4 cup of vegetable stock and let it cook down. To be honest, it probably could have used some more heat, but still this is very tasty - and if you use the 99.9% fat free ground turkey breast, very healthy! A keeper for sure!

I gave it 4 stars bc i did added other things to it. I added one can chili beans, one black beans *drained, 2 cans of diced tomatoes, 1 can of tomato sauce, little can of green chilies, 1 can of pumpkin, 1 whole green pepper (i didn't have any yellow pepper), about 1.5 TBSP of cumin, alot more chili powder, 2 shake of pumpkin pie spice, couple shake of cayenne pepper and chicken broth to thin it out (it's really thick. I brought it into working in a crockpot and they ate it all up. My coworkers thought it was really good. A twist of fall to the normal chili. I would definitely make it again. Maybe throw a jalapeno for some kick.

This looks SO good - I love turkey, and I love pumpkin. I love comfort foods on a cold day, especially when they can be made healthy, and I love Mexican/Tex Mex/Southwestern food. But I hate tomatoes and bell peppers! I'm seriously ready to cry over here...I want to try this so bad. I'll work on substitutions. 5 stars for tempting me to tears ;)
