Made this pretty close to original recipe, except I used homemade pumpkin pie filling instead of plain cooked pumpkin, then reduced amount of spices to taste. The streusel topping is extremely messy, as quite a bit of it melted and ran off the muffins, burning to the muffin pan and the bottom of my oven. Despite that, however, the portion of streusel that remained on the muffins was quite good. The muffins themselves were fantastic, although I also found that I had to heat leftover muffins in order to make the cream cheese center more palatable. I will most definitely make these again with a crumb topping and a whipped cream cheese center. That being said, my husband proclaimed the muffins baked as-is were "good enough to sell!"

The cream cheese just turns into a lump in the middle, and the tastiest bit is the streusel that is messy and only on top. Would make different version with a tastier muffin, no streusel and a cheescake-type addition to the top, not the middle.

I made this recipe without the cream cheese and the nuts. These muffins were pretty good and my 1 year old daughter loved them. Might try them with the cream cheese in the future.

My family loved these muffins. I left out the cream cheese filling, but other than that, I kept the recipe the same. Fabulous!

These were just okay. They sounded SO good...I guess I had them built up in my mind. I keep thinking I did something wrong. They seemed like they had too much flour. My husband liked them but I don't they were worth the effort.

Pretty good muffins. Very moist! 18 minutes was perfect. I used Splenda in place of the 1/2 cup sugar. Not overly sweet, but yummy!
