I made this for a team meeting at work and for a night with the girls and it got rave reviews. Many requests for the recipe. It is super easy. I added just a little more cinnamon and also added some ginger. I like a little more spice with my pumpkin. Thanks for the recipe.

This is very addictive! It's the cake and butter topping I think. I used a 30 oz can of pumpkin pie filling because I didn't have all the spices so I just didn't add any spices or salt. I used a cup of sugar but probably could have used even less. I used better than butter baking sticks. I also took the advice of some reviews and didn't put the entire cake mix on top because it is sweet enough without it all. I put some fat free whip topping on the side and I tried it right out of the oven and after it's been in the fridge and I prefer it cold but still good warm.

This recipe is awesome! The only thing I changed was I used sweetened condensed milk and didn't use as much sugar b/c I didn't have evaporated milk on hand. This was so yummy I had a hard time not eating it all. I can't wait to bring it to my next holiday party. Thank you!!!

I discovered this recipe a few years back. I didn't have time to make traditional pumpkin pies the first Thanksgiving after my Mom passed away. I made this for our family dinner and felt guilty that I didn't make Mom's pies for my Dad. To my delight my snooty Dad loved it and we have it for every Thanksgiving now.

An absolute HIT with my youth group...and my parents! Mom, whose loathe against anything containing a cake mix, is a convert! And Dad, who's a pecan-a-holic, requested this 'cheater' recipe instead of the traditional punkin pie last Thanksgiving. What a feather in my cap! =) Thanks, Nora!!

Very easy and tasty. The topping is a little sweet and I am a big sweet eater, I will probably try using less of the cake mix on top. It is better chilled and even tastier on day 2.

Had this at Kristi and Cliff's pumpkin carving party - outstanding! I am switching the rating from 5 to 4 stars. I made this myself on Halloween - and the second time around it was much too sweet. I could barely finish a piece, it was too sweet for me. Next time cut down on the cake mix on top.

I made this cake to take to an office party. It was a big hit. I did make a couple of changes though. I only used 1 stick of margarine, and instead of melting it, I just sliced it very thin and covered the top of the cake. I did not have the 2 tsps of pumpkin pie spice-(I had maybe 1 1/2 tsps)so I used what I had and added a sprinkling of cinnamon and a sprinkling of nutmeg. I think it worked out well, and everyone at work thought it was great.

I've made this quite a few years now and it's delicious and requested by a few of my relatives. I actually add crumb topping on top of the cake(from a crumbcake recipe I have) and call it Pumpkin Crumb Crunch Cake.

I love this recipe, however, I also made a couple of adjustments. Instead of using the puree and spice, I used 2 cups of the pumpkin pie mix which already has all the spices in it.

This is wonderful. I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice so I used cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. I let it sit for a couple of hours but it still fell apart when I tried to serve it, we all still at it though!! But once I put it in the fridge it set up just like pumpkin pie texture. I will definately be making this more often. Just beware, this is very addictive. Make it when there are a bunch of people to help you eat it. :)

Fabulous and easy! I used fresh pumpkin puree...used another reviewer's (VickiW) recipe for spices and it was so good! Warm or cold, this was eaten so quickly! If you want something different from the traditional pumpkin pie, try this!
