I modified the recipe to make it healthy yet delish. Used 2 cups whole wheat flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 cup canned pumpkin, 1/2 cup brown sugar( don't pack it), 8 packets of Splenda, 1 egg, 1 tbs skim milk (not necessary to be skim but what I had on hand), 1 tbs vanilla, 1/4 cup non fat yogurt + 1/4 cup smart balance margarine for the oil, decreased the chocolate chips (dark chocolate chips) to 3/4 cup to allow the pumpkin flavor to be pronounced. I didn't add any salt to the dough because there is already salt in the margarine and I decreased the sugar so I want to avoid a salty cookie. I'm not a huge fan of nuts in my cookies so I eliminated them but you can add them if you like.If you want a more orange colored cookie, add a few drops of food coloring as well. I cooked them as directed.( 350 degrees for 10 minutes) Before putting them in the oven, I flattened them out a bit so they look prettier. Be careful not to over bake them or you'll end up with a drier cookie. Bake them just so they lose their sheen and soft in the middle. The cookies continue to cook as they cool. I loved them cold and fresh out of the oven. It tastes much more moist straight from the oven and chewier from the fridge. Definitely try them this way. It's lower in calories and yummy. Hope my review helped! =D

These are sooo good! They are soft -- the texture is like a cross between cake and cookies. And I do agree with putting them in the fridge -- they are delicious cold!

These were delicious. We made them for a bake sale, and ended up eating half ourselves. Made a second batch where we substituted banana for the pumpkin and they were just as good.

These are the best pumpkin chocolate chip cookies ever! My sister gave us this recipe and everytime I make them they never last a full day! They are indeed my brother's favorite cookie ever! Thank you for the recipe.

It was okay. Too many chocolate chips overpowered the pumpkin. Also, the cookie texture was great the day I made them but after being in a container overnight they got very doughy. I think it's a good base for a cookie. I am going to try to add more flour next time and also skip the chocolate chips and replace them with cream cheese frosting on top.

These cookies were well received, but I don't know if I'll make them again. The pumpkin flavor is vague and the texture reminds me of a muffin top rather than a solid cookie. They aren't bad, but I'm sure that better cookies exist.

Out of all the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I've tried, these are by far the best. My boyfriend loves the ones from a local bakery and I've been searching for a recipe that is similar. This is the closest so far.

These cookies are bland, UNLESS you substitute applesauce for the oil as several others have said. If the original recipe called for applesauce and not oil, I would give these a 5.

Our family LOVES these cookies. I've made them 5 different times, and each time they turn out perfectly! They are fluffy, cake-like, and full of flavor. I add twice the cinnamon, 2 tsp nutmeg, and replace the oil with applesauce. Sometimes I pour the batter into a muffin pan and bake a couple minutes longer. My husband likes the muffins for breakfast!

These are awesome cookies. Soft, delicious, perfect! I doubled the recipe. Substituted half of the oil with applesauce, and also added drops of red food coloring as per some of the reviewers suggested.
