I've made this twice now, cutting the recipe in half both times and making it in one 9x5 pan but not using quite all the batter. I've made it with oil and with an oil/applesauce blend and its fantastic both ways. I chose this because it didn't have any ginger, which I was out of. Its my staple pumpkin recipe now!

This is definately the best pumpkin bread recipe ever! I made it exactly the same as the recipe except I used unsweetened applesauce in place of the oil. It turned out great and really moist. Only thing about this recipe that I would say is innacurate is the baking time. I baked mine for about 65 minutes.

This was super good! I brought it to my book group and everyone liked it. I did change a couple things, however, because of my preferences. First, I had read in another review that you can substitute all of the oil for unsweetened applesauce to make it healthier, and wanted to give it a try. We didn't have any applesauce, so my mom had the idea that I mash up some canned (unsweetend) pears and use that instead. It worked beautifully! I did use a 3 to 1 ratio of pear puree to oil, just to be safe, but in the future, I'll use all pear. Also, I decreased the amounts of nutmeg and cloves and increased the amount of cinnamon, just because that's how my family likes it. Thanks for a great recipe!

Mmmmmmmmm...what a great autumn bread! I added chocolate chips and nuts and made mini loaves. I had plenty for home, the kids to take to school, and send a couple with a friend. I liked this recipe as it wasn't heavy and thick. It was also seasoned properly for the fall...not too sweet.

Unbelievable! Easy to follow and amazing results. I received so many compliments. I did add mini chocolate chips and followed another's advice about upping the spices -- I added another 1/2 teaspoon of each -- and it was perfect! Thanks!

Unbelievably good! The only pumpkin bread recipe I'll use from now on. I followed the advice of others and substituted apple sauce for half the oil. Moist and delicious - you'd never know it had half the oil. I also cut it from 36 servings to 24 and it made one regular loaf and 4 mini loaves. Perfect!

I used 1/4 cup oil and 3/4 cup applesauce and it turned out great! Very moist and fantastic with pecans! I think next time I'll dust the pans with a mixture of pumpkin pie spice and sugar for an extra kick.

Great recipe. I was looking for an easy recipe with not a lot of ingredients. this was perfect. It was super easy to make and taste great. I cut back on the ingredients to make two loaves instead of three. I will look forward to making this again.

Awesome pumpkin bread! Exactly the taste I was looking for. I've been making this recipe as muffins (30 min) and mini muffins (15 minutes) and everyone begs me for more! Can't wait to bring a loaf to Thanksgiving dinner.

Very good recipe. Too much oil for my family so I added 4oz cup of cinnamon applesauce and 1/4 cup of oil. I also used 2 1/4 pumpkin pie spice to cut down on supplies. We love cinnamon so I added more to taste. 1/2 batch made 36 muffins 350 for 21 min frosted in homemade cream cheese icing....Wonderful!!!

Absolutely delicious!! I didn't add the tablespoon of flour. I also did a version with splenda, 3 egg whites and half applesauce, half oil...good flavor, but definite splenda aftertaste. Didn't rise well either. Stick with the original...soooo goood!!

I have to say, I think this bread is just ok. I made it exactly as called for except I didn't add any raisins, chocolate chips, or nut. I think these might of made it better. It was however a nice, moist loaf which I like, just a little plain.

This recipe is awesome! Very easy to make and delicious. I left out the oil and instead used applesauce like another user suggested. I also used half white sugar, and half brown and added 1 cup chopped and roasted pecans. I made only 2 loaves and they were gone in 2 days. I only gave it 4 stars because I changed the original recipe. I am keeping this recipe. Well done!
