was really good, but too crumbly. Next time try adding 4 eggs instead of 3. Maybe leave out Baking powder and add salt.

This recipe was very good. The spices in the bread made the house smell wonderful. I don't think I have ever made a quick bread using butter before - usually recipes call for oil or shortening. I think next time I will lighten it with applesauce. My kids insisted on adding mini chocolate chips, which was really good.

Fabulous recipe! My dad practically ate half a loaf in one sitting. Just the right amount of sweetness, so you can taste all the spices, and the perfect consistency. Love it!

While this recipe had a good flavor, it was much more like a cake batter than a quickbread. The batter was very light and fluffy and resulted in a much more crumbly and dry pumpkin bread than we prefer. I might try this recipe again as a muffin or a cupcake?

Awesome bread! I only used 1 tsp. cloves and added 1 tsp. each vanilla flavoring and orange peel, and it was de-lovely. Makes 5 mini-loaf pans for gift-giving and enjoying :-)

I wanted to make a pumpkin bread and couldn't find the box mix in the store so I came here looking. This is a very good pumpkin bread!! In fact, its better than the box brand I normally get. It's almost more of a moist cake than a bread, but it's really yummy!!! I followed the advice of the others here and I made mine with 1.5 cups granulated sugar and 1.5 cups brown sugar. I added 1.5 tsp cinnamon and 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice and left out the cloves and the nutmeg. I had a 15 ounce can of pumpkin so that is what I used. I also added 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp salt. I used Nucoa butter sticks. I don't know how the others had theirs come out crumbly?? Mine is very moist and everyone in the household loves it ~ even my 7 year old "picky pants" ~ I baked it in a 9X13 cake pan for 50 minutes and it is perfect!!! Thanks Shirley for sharing a wondrful recipe and for everyone's input on how to tweak it ;) I have added this to my book of favorite recipes. ** Update; I made this recipe again using smart balance margarine. It did come out a little crumbly, but still very moist. My only complaint for this recipe is the product doesn't last long enough. I had to stock up on pumpkin so I could make more ;) My family and I love it!!! Thanks again!!

I made mini loaves and sold them at the Halloween bake sale at my son's school. I doubled the recipe so we could keep some at home...it was a huge hit!!

This bread is amazing! I only made a few minor changes. I used 1 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 1/2 white sugar and added 1/2 tsp allspice, and reduced the amount of clove as suggested by others. I was able to get 3 loaves from this recipe, so I left one plain, added walnuts to another, and walnuts and raisins to the last. They were all absolutely delicious and I will definitely be making this recipe again.

This is the first time I've really baked anything that wasn't from a box and oh my god this bread was so fantastic! I made some changes that other reviewers recommended like halving the cloves, adding vanilla, extra cinnamon, and fresh pumpkin. I also made half the sugar regular and half brown, plus added 1 1/2 tsp minced ginger. It smelled awesome and tasted even better! I'm definitely making this again!!

OMG OMG OMG, this is INCREDIBLE! ! Probably some of the best bread I have ever had, and I can not even believe that I made it! This recipe is very easy, and the taste is incredible!!!! Instead of using canned pumpkin though, I chopped up a pumpkin and made the puree myself. Also I did half the recipe in half the size baking pan and it only took about 45 minutes till it was done. You have to try this, its a keeper!

This bread has the most AMAZING flavor!! The only problem I had with it is that it was rather crumbly and somewhat dry. I'm not much of a cook, so I probably baked it too long. But, if anyone knows of an addition that will make it a bit more moist or dense, post it up because I'm curious!!

This was excellent. The only thing I did diffrently was use fresh pumpkin and I added 1 cup of chopped fresh cranberries (I will use 2 next time). This is almost exactly like the bread at a local bread company and they use chocolate chips (my next adventure). I will be using this recipe for bread this year for christmas gifts!

Fantastic Recipe... Very Moist as Promised and Lovely Flavor.... I served this at a preschool Halloween Party and came home with nothing but an empty plate. The second loaf I kept for home and it was gone that night. Great recipe!

After reading the reviews I thought everyone was exagerrating on the flavor of this bread, but I thought I'd try it anyway. No exagerration, this bread is awesome. It is so good. It's super easy to make too, my 3 year old made it with me. By far the best Pumpkin bread i've ever had.

Tried this out tonight. The taste is wonderful...whole family loved...but was quite crumbly, to my disappointment. My husband's (good) advice was "Keep it (the recipe), but tweak it." Well said.
