Love these. Love the salty/sweet. Melted a few white chocolate chips in the micro and drizzled over them after they were cool. (Must let them cool completely or you will have a mess!) Great for Christmas cookie platters. Even the kids helped with these.

I took other reviewers suggestion and put my pecans on before popping them in the oven. They came out beautifully! Great Christmas gifts or for bringing to a potluck.

Came across this recipe just in time for Christmas cookie tins. So easy, the children can make them. We probably made at least 6 batches over the holidays. They were a hit with everyone who tasted them. Rolos work the best for the choice of caramels. For those who don't like pecans, we did some with an M&M pressed into the top, but the pecans are the best. Be sure to use parchement paper or a silicon liner, and do not press down too hard when putting the pecan half on top. I shared this reciped with friends and family and I know that many of them have also passed it on to others. It was our best new recipe of the season.

The perfect little treat, and my 5 year old did most of the work! We would never snack on the butter-flavored Hanover pretzels, but they did add just a touch of depth to this recipe, so I'd recommend those (and use the square pretzel if you can, regardless). I used toasted pecans that we put in place before baking & Dove caramel chocolates. I personally thought they looked better without any drizzle on top, although others have suggested it. Such a hit!

This recipe was such a big hit this past Christmas. Everyone loved them. I used snaps(Snyder brand) pretzels. They were perfect for this recipe. My daughters begged me to make more after Christmas. I ended up filling up one cookie sheet with pretzels which used up about 2 packages of Rolo's candies. Thanks for sharing this one!

Here is another 5 star review for this fantastic recipe. I used a number of the reviews recommendations: square pretzels, Dove chocolates filled with caramel, toasted the pecans after tossing them in a little butter. I also drizzled a little semi-sweet chocolate on top for a beautiful finishing touch. My husband took these to a New Year's Eve party and even though there was too much food and tons of left overs, every one of these babies got eaten!! There are the perfect bite size treat.....sweet, salty, chocolate....perfection! Thanks for a great and easy recipe!

This is easy, but really not very good with basic ingredients. I used Rolos and I would not recommend them. The chocolate part tasted really cheap and the pretzels were a strange texture (which might be tolerated if the chocolate/caramel part was good). I may try it again with Dove Chocolate Caramels sometime, and will also toast the pecans first if I make this recipe again.

i tried these with caramel kisses, because they were less expensive than rolos, but they wobbled when trying to put them in the oven. will probably try with rolos next time. also used two pecan halves per turtle, which also added to the wobble factor, so will try with pretzel next time. these were great!

I totally agree with all the rave reviews! Excellent, easy, fun treat to make and eat. I had to keep them in the oven for about 8 minutes before the caramel was soft enough to mush down a little.
