Made this tonight 12/27/11 and it was great ... I added a saltine cracker topping... I would suggest cooking the potato's for about 10 min's or so before mixing them in the casserole... my husband went back for seconds , and that is a good sign...~smile~

I love this recipe and so do my kids. I've made it several times and have made it with processed and regular shredded cheese...both taste good! I usually double the recipe for my family of 6 and hope for leftovers :)

Great meal the whole family loved it. Ages 15 months to 62.I made a double recipe but I should have made a triple! I added a can of cheese and broccoli soup instead of two cream of mushrooms and my cheese loving family couldn't get enough. Very easy to prepare and something fun to use up leftover ham.

It was a very good recipe, my son and husband both liked it. Followed the recipe and suggestions to cut potatoes thin. The only negative thing I would say about it is that on the plate it didn't have a very appealing presentation.

So yummy! My husband loved it, as did my 4 and 3 year-olds. I tweaked things a bit... I cubed the potatoes and boiled them for a few minuted first. Then I layered them in the pan with the ham, cubed cheddar and colby jack, and the soup, which I seasoned slightly with onion powder and garlic. I left out the peas and onion entirely. I baked it at 350 for 30 minutes covered in foil. Then I removed the foil, sprinkled it with crushed Ritz crackers and melted butter, and baked for another 15 minutes. It turned out great... there were no leftovers!

This is about to become a staple at our house. I made it last night for the second time and the reviews were just as good! Don't put a whole lot of onion but some is just perfect! Great job on this one!

This recipe was delicious! I crave hot dishes like this in the fall and this is just what I was looking for! It was a hit with my family, even my 2 year old! The only thing I did differently was I used 1/2 can of cream of mushroom and 1/2 can of cheddar cheese soup, used velveeta slices, and added about 1/3 cup of milk to make it a little creamier. The potatoes were fully cooked by 1 hr. and 15 min., I made sure to cut them very thin after reading some of the reviews. Will definitely be making this again, an awesome comfort food! Thanks for the recipe!
