The kids love these. You really have to keep a close eye on these potatoes as they're cooking so they don't burn. Cooking time VARIES with EACH batch. But these are great to make for the kids lunch.

Very easy and quick to make for one or two people (but I wouldn't want to make enough for a crowd!) I used a slicer and made very thin slices. Five minutes on a dinner plate sprayed with pam was just perfect. I used seasoned salt.

These were pretty good, but I haven't been able to find the perfect time yet. I find it's best with Cajun seasoning.

Followed recipe exactly. WONDERFUL! Family LOVED them with a sprinkle of Lawry's seasoned salt. Used a cheese slicer to make them a uniform thickness since I didn't have a mandolin.

More a comment than a review - I bought a plastic stand (from a shrift shop) some years ago and tried this - the stand burned before the potato chips were cooked. I tried this (similar) recipe today, and the result again disaster. Some 'chips' burned, some boiled, and not one turned crisp-and-brown. OK - this is an 1100watt microwave (fairly powerful, I think), and the potatoes, alas, cannot be described accurately, as here we get 'red', 'white', 'washed', and that's about it. We still have a long way to go get sellers to tell us what potatoes these actually are - "They're spuds, mate, whaddya think they are?". Is it the kind of potato, perhaps?. Certainly I am going to stick with the supermarket "Smith's chips", made in Australia under license from Pepsico, until further notice.

Wow! When I found this recipe, I thought that they cant surely turn out well - how wrong was I!! I couldnt wait to test it out, so I headed to the kitchen straight away. I used small potatoes and cooked them for 9-10 mins, so tasty- they disappeared - didnt even get the chance to season them!! oh well better go and make some more!

I would not try this recipe unless you have a food slicer and can slice in uniform sizes. I just used a knife and the chips varied from petrified to raw potatoes. I don't think there was more than 1/8th of an inche difference from smallest to largest.

these potato chips rock. but to all college students out there like me...do NOT use a plastic plate (and i suppose the same goes for paper). use ceramic. or else you could start a fire in your microwave like i did an hour ago :)

seasoned with Chipotle seasoning. Sprayed plate with Pam. Used Smart Balance oil in bag w/ seasoning added to bag. Microwaved for 6-7 minutes. Chips will brown and get curly along the edges.

I could not wait to make these because I did'nt believe they would be any good. Boy was I wrong! I cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the bottom of my microwave {so I could make alot}and followed recipe. You will have to cook them longer than stated though.I served with ranch dip,and salted one batch, cajun seasoned one batch, and sprinkled dry ranch on another. Pretty good! Hubby was as surprised as I was.

This was great fun for my 9-year-old daughter. I taught her how to safely use the mandolin. She sliced them thin, put them in a plastic baggie with some oil, tossed them around, and laid a layer on a Pam-sprayed glass baking dish (didn't stick at all). Popped in the microwave for 8 minutes (tried 2 minutes at a time with the first batch to get the right timing) and then removed them and sprinkled with seasoned salt. They were terrific! Thanks!

Yum! I just made these with my Pampered Chef Ultimate Mandolin! You can sprinkle anything on these things...I used the P.C. southwestern seasoning, a chipotle seasoning and a popcorn seasoning to try out different flavors. I also just used baking spray and they didn't stick to the plate at all. I might try these at one of my shows to demo. the mandolin and seasonings! They definitely satisfied my salt craving!

i did this one as a substitute for frozen chips, i cut the slices a bit thick, they took about 15 mins on high, came a bit hard, so next time will put for less. but great alternative we loved it, sprinkled a bit of chicken salt once i took them out and they were great. thanks for this one!

OK, I’ll happily join the ranks of the skeptical who have been convinced. These were really great! I used red potatoes, a grater and a peeler (tried both), olive oil, and a glass dish sprayed with PAM. It took exactly 5 minutes in my 1,000W microwave. I just tossed the slices in a bowl with the olive oil and then spread them on the platter to cook. Yes, it does take a while to make a few chips, but the Gee-Whiz factor (and the taste!) makes it worth it! I guess the microwave heats the oil and the hot oil fries the chips – that’s why they’re crispy. Try it!
