I too was surprised that these turned out. I had to cook mine for 5 minutes. They tasted great and I can't wait to try different flavor variations! Also, I used olive oil which tastes great.

I enjoyed making my own chips. Very easy. I made sure my microwave setting was on high so it didn't take so long.

First off, I have about 10 recipes from this site. . and this is the first that inspired me to actually sign up and write a review. I'm sitting here watching the bachelor (thanks ABC) and craving chips. . so I made these. . .THANK GOD!!! I followed the recipe exactly. I used Kosher salt and mixed that in with the oil instead of salting them in the end. AMAZING. And you know, you always feel better when you make it at home instead of buying it in the store. . Microwave=amazing tonight in my book!

I too was skeptical at first and just had to try it ... wow! I can't wait to share this with my husband and kiddies. I used parchment paper right on top of the turntable dish of the microwave. Just keep an eye, because once they start browning it doesn't take to much longer. Thank you for a simple and tasty treat!

Very Very Good! I used parchment paper instead of oiling the plate. It worked great! I couldn't believe how well this recipe worked. Thanks for sharing!!!

Fabulous! Definitely do the parchment paper, no sticking what so ever. I also placed the paper directly on the mircowave turntable. I dipped them in oil and I also tried just spraying them with pam. Both works well. Thanks! UPDATE: sprinkled them with ground sea salt and malt vinegar...YUM!

so very tasty! very easy! I used my mandolin and it made it especially simple. I only wish I had a bigger plate and microwave so I could make more. I was going to take a pic and post it but I ate them too fast to get the camera out!

I made these & they were great. A few notes: I sliced my potato with a knife. Would have been more consistent, obviously, with a little slicer. Also, maybe because mine were a little thicker, it took approx 7 minutes to cook. They WILL start to turn brown when ready. Also, I found that mine stuck to the plate so with my 3rd batch, I sprayed the plate with Pam. This worked perfectly. I used a butter knife to remove from the plates. Who knew you could make potato chips in the microwave??

It was really good! It reminded me of Lays Potato chips. It could have used a little more oil to coat the the potatoes, but overall it was delicious!

OMG, what a great recipe! And so simple too. After purchasing a mandoline the other day, I went searching for a recipe to try it out. I took the suggestions about the parchment paper and used the setting just under 1/8" for crinkle cut. I used a paper towel to dry the slices and sprayed the paper with PAM, laid out the slices, and sprayed again, then added some salt and garlic powder(I like garlic chips). After about 7 minutes I took them from the microwave as they started to brown as others recommended, but they didn't crisp up after a few minutes(the front was crisp but the side next to the paper was a little soggy, so I turned them over and put them back in for another 3 minutes. They came out perfect!! I will definitely make these again. **UPDATE** My husband suggested using the microwave plate we use for bacon(the kind with raised ridges),and the chips really came out well. It is probably because they were able to crisp underneath due to the raised surface. I did about 9 1/2 minutes in the microwave to get the right consistency, but I am sure it will vary.

These are great!! I was shocked as well that they could turn out so good in the microwave! I followed the directions and didn't stray, very tasty! Mine only took 4 minutes...I'm sure it varies by potato thickness and the power of your microwave.

This recipe is GREAT! Make sure you keep cooking until the potato slices brown. I just wish we could do these faster, the family eats one batch before the next batch is ready!

I gave this a try last night to compliment some hoagies. I used a potato peeler as I don't have a mandoline. I made 2 platefuls in the microwave, which didn't really yield enough chips for dinner. But it wasn't worth it, prep was just too much for the product.

I used a mandoline and dumped the cut potatoes into ice water for a few minutes then blotted dry on paper towels. Only used a little more than a teaspoon of canola per potato and rubbed the slices as I took them out of the bag to make sure they were coated. I rotated 2 sheets of parchment and was done in no time.
