Delicious! My family loves cheese, so I added about 1/2 cup of shredded provolone. Awesome!

This was the first soup I tried to make and it came out delicious! Everyone in our house loves it. I omitted celery cuz we don't like it but we added some garlic instead. I also cook the potatoes in broth instead of water as was suggested by some other members and it really makes a difference in my opinion. Very good!

Had a nice flavor, but needed thickening (cornstarch) and next time I will add more potatoes and use chicken broth instead of the potato water

This was pretty good. I think it needed more potatoes, but the flavor was good. I used fat-free milk and fat-free sour cream, so the soup wasn't as thick as I'd like. (Just an FYI for those who want to use fat-free ingredients.)

This was delicious! I made it for dinner tonight and even my picky son loved it. Next time I am going to put some cheese on top and I think it will be even better.

Perfect comfort food! Mmmm! I did add a little cheese, substituted the water for chicken broth, and added cornstarch, like others did. Hubby and kids liked it and they aren't fond of chowder. We're a meat protein family, so we will add more meat protein (i.e. chicken) next time, but it's still delicious as is.

It was pretty good. I like thicker soup so I had to drain some of the liquid at the end. I think I would make it again with some tweaks.

This was GREAT! I didn't have potatoes on hand, so I made it with frozen diced potatoes/hashbrowns and was surprised that it still turned out really good! I had to add some extra flour because the consistency was a little thin, but this might be due to the aforementioned change. Although the diced potatoes were mostly thawed, I had to simmer it on the stove for about 45 minutes rather than 10 so the potatoes were thoroughly cooked & soft. I took others' advice and added cheddar cheese on top. Also used low-fat milk and low-fat sour cream. Yum yum yum!

LOVE this! I made a few changes: used chicken stock in place of water; upped stock to 2 cups instead of 1; used bacon pieces from the salad section (way faster); thickened it with some corn starch; and added a cup of shredded cheese right at the end. Absolutely wonderful. We ran out so quickly that I had to make more the next day to satisify a hungry husband. :)

So yummy, and so easy, just how I like it! This receipe deserves 5 stars because one, it is great just the way it is written, but two, you can jazz it up however you want! I added green peppers and corn to the onion/celery saute, then cheese at the very end to mix in. I forgot the salt and pepper, but it didn't even matter. Everyone LOVED it! This is a super-duper-keeper.

I made this, and with a few changes, it was a HUGE success. I tripled it, as others had said, glad I did. I used chicken broth instead of water, used 2 pounds cooked crumbled bacon, and added 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic in olive oil, and added 2 chicken bouillon cubes. It was a hit with some friends as well, and they gave some to their family, and they think it's to die for!

Very good recipe even with my few changes. I did use chicken broth instead of water. I used low fat half n half, sour cream and cream of chicken soup....always makes me feel better when I'm eating bacon because I will only use the real stuff when it comes to bacon. I do have my standards after all...I also added some fresh garlic and diced carrots to the skillet with the onions and celery. Sprinkled with some shredded cheese, chives and bacon to serve. Yummy stuff here - thanks Jacque for sharing your recipe!

The easiest most delicious i have made in a long time. I did add ham cubes with the bacon when cooking them together and fresh corn off the cob to this receipe. Do not add salt at all to this when you add these other ingrediants. salt is not needed. I would recommend this receipe to anyone who enjoys a good chowder.

Delicious comfort food! I cooked the potatoes (unpeeled) in 1 cup of chicken stock, used low-fat sour cream, and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Thank you, this is a keeper.

I don't know what it is about this recipe but it makes me so happy! (okay I admit it must be the sour cream) I love to make it and it is always delicious. I have a problem making my soups too thick, and this one was perfect for me, probably a bit on the thin side, which is a great set up for adding bits of bacon, cheese or crackers as toppings.

Very good recipe! I did change it up a bit. Instead of sour cream I added a heavy cream and cheddar cheese. I cooked up some chopped carrots, onion, and celery. It was fantastic! Also, I would like to suggest an easy and great way to thicken soups, chowders, and stews, try using instant potatoes.
