Excellent bread, perfect for sandwiches or toast. The poppy seeds are subtle and not overpowering yet add a nice taste and texture. I did not have almond extract or butter flavoring. I just added a knob of butter instead. I will definitely be making it again.

Great recipe. I had to tweak it a bit -- I didn't have any "butter flavor". I'm also not a fan of almond flavor, so I only added a dash of almond extract and made up the difference with vanilla. I used the dough cycle on my bread machine, then baked it in the oven at 350-degrees for 30 minutes. It came out tasting great -- not as sweet as I expected, which was fine with me! -- and surprisingly soft.

I loved this bread! I omitted the almond flavoring and love to use it for sandwiches. The poppy seeds add a nice nutty flavor. This is a good variation on your typical bread. I substituted white whole wheat flour and it was excellent.

Beautiful crumb, especially for a bread machine bread - slices beautifully - not a strong flavor but boy those flavorings make the house SMELL like heaven when it's baking! Wasn't a 'sweet' bread, more like a pretty white bread with a nice aroma.

Light and airy with a tinge of sweetness. Wonderful bread, and the recipe creates a large loaf- I set my machine as 2 lbs. I used normal flour, no butter flavoring, and slightly less than 2 tbs. of poppy seeds. This doesn't dry out quickly and the best part is you can taste the poppy seed flavor (and see them!). My mom thought it needed to be sweeter, so I may increase the sugar next time.
