I thought this was a great bread. Very light and high rising, make sure your machine can handle a 2 lb loaf. I served with a lemon glaze, rather than the nutmeg butter.

I changed some measurements: 1/4 cup of sugar 1 lemon's worth of rind instead of measuring it out Most of the measurements I eyeballed. The bread machine I used is for a 1.5 lb loaf of bread. The bread quantity seemed to be about 1.5 lb loaf. The bread turned out light, but in my opinion, not nearly sweet enough. Tasters told me that it tastes like lemon poppy seed bread should, but I expected and wanted a sweeter taste. It tastes like regular bread with slight lemony taste. Perhaps it would be improved with a stronger lemon flavor? Something about this bread is missing and I would probably not make it again in favor of muffins or some sweeter bread of similar type. I have not tried it with the Nutmeg Butter yet.

This is a very unusual tasting bread. We liked it but didn't love it. I enjoyed the nutmeg butter on the toasted bread.
