Poppy Seed Egg Bread
SUBMITTED BY:
Lorraine Darocha
"In Berkshire, Massachusetts, Lorraine Darocha prepares this light eggy loaf with poppy seeds throughout. 'It's simple to make in the bread machine...or use the dough setting, shape it into a traditional braided challah loaf and bake it in the oven,' she suggests."

Gorgeous. Loved the light texture and eggy taste of the crust. Think the poppy seeds do lend some flavour, plus nutrients and looks good! Best looking loaf I've made yet!

I like the bread taste and texture; in a 2 # machine, it comes out very light, almost like an Italian or French. I would not bother adding the poppy seeds - they really do not add any flavor to the bread (I think the 1 Tbl in an entire loaf is not enough to add any distinct flavor). But the loaf without the seeds is very good.
