Cube steak is dredged in flour, browned on the stove, then finished in the oven topped with onions and green peppers! This is a good recipe for families that have good taste but can't afford really expensive steaks. The kids love it so much they call it Mom's famous cube steak! It's great with mashed potatoes and gravy!

This recipe is so good that I truly enjoy sharing it with others. I've always liked Salisbury steak, but I had to search a long time to find a recipe this tasty. It's handy, too because it can be prepared ahead, kept in the refrigerator and warmed up later.

Ground beef is mixed a few spices and formed into patties that are breaded and fried. I'm not sure where my mom got this recipe, but she used to make it at least once a month. Although she never served it with gravy, I think peppered gravy would go great with this.

Many people cringe when they hear the term 'meat loaf', but it's one of my favorite foods that Mom made while I was growing up. I love the ketchup topping, and the loaf freezes well. -Daria Burcar Rochester, Michigan

'Instant stuffing mix makes this nicely seasoned meat loaf simple enough for beginners to make,' says Betty Braswell of Elgin, Pennsylvania. 'I often combine the mixture in a resealable plastic bag instead of a bowl,' she suggests. 'Then I toss the bag for easy cleanup.'

THIS DISH is one of my husband's favorites, so I make it often. It's also a handy recipe - while it's in the oven, you can do other things. The meat becomes very tender, and the vegetables add delicious flavor. -Dolores Wynne, Clearwater, Florida
