Great recipe ! But it really doesn't need the beef broth. just saute the cabbage , adding a little bit of sugar (it brings out the natural sweetness of the cabbage and onions) with the kielbassa. when it gets to the texture you prefer add the boiled pierogies. toss together--YUM
The dish is pretty good but be sure to use a very flavorful sausage or the dish may come out a bit bland. The sausage is definitely the star of the dish.
Mmmm Mmmm! Delish! What a great comfort food. I didn't add the beef broth, this recipe doesn't need it. The cabbage & onions will get tender enough in the skillet with just the butter. A+!
This was very good but made the following minor changes as I couldn't see how you could do all this in one skillet . I precooked the kielbasa on the bbq grill for extra flavor. I cooked the cabbage and onion mixture according to directions. (I skipped the salt and pepper as I obtained the Kielbasa from a local sausage shop and they already contain enough spices to flavor this meal.) While the cabbage mixture was cooking down I browned the boiled pierogies in a separate fry pan. I then added low sodium beef broth, perogies and precooked kielbasa to the cabbage mixture and simmered for 10 minutes. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.
Great recipe. I didn't feel like it needed the broth either. The sauteed onions and cabbage are a perfect match for the sausage and pierogies. Mmm!
This was delicious!!! I made this using the "Pierogi (Polish Dumpling)" recipe on this site intesd of using frozen. Also, I cooked the onion and cabbage for a little bit, then added no sodium beef broth and covered. When the cabbage was done, I put it in a bowl, melted a little butter in the pan and added the kielbasa & pierogies until they got a little carmelization. It was amazing!
Love this recipe, it's so easy! I made it with pierogi's then I made it with chunked potatoes about the size of the cut of kielbasa, both ways were really nummy. Didn't add the beef broth either time and all was okay!
This was excellent. Very easy to prepare, comes together quickly. I also didn't use beef broth, and I wonder if beer would have changed the flavor in a negative way. Although I didn't add sugar, it had a bit of a sweet taste, probably from the onion. I would definitely recommend this dish without any changes.
