This was excellent! So many different flavors; the zesty lemon and tart plums complimented by the sweet sugar topping, spicy cinnamon, and crunchy pecans. This is a great bread for giving. Thank you for sharing!

Delish! My changes: half the flour whole wheat, extra plums, extra fresh grated lemon peel. On the topping used walnuts cuz that's what I had, and used a lot of them, melted 2 T butter to mix with the sugar, cinnamin & nuts, which made it amazing! A new favorite!!!

Yum! This turned out so moist, and it tasted great! My whole family enjoyed it. Definitely something I'll make again.

this was SO good! i left out the salt (i never add salt to anything),brown sugar (i usually cut sugar in recipes) lemon peel (didn't have any), and used regular milk (didn't have buttermilk) with a splash of white vinegar, and skipped the topping. my boys, ages 1 and 3, loved it too! i've never baked with plums before, we usually just eat them, but i had a few that were going to go bad so i decided to give this a try. SO glad i did, i'm going to be making this often in the summer! the only problem i had was the plum pieces all fell the the bottom. i tossed them with flour like i usually do with fruit and berries, but the batter was so thin, it didn't do any good. so it was more like an upside down cake than a bread, but delicious all the same. in fact i think i might use this recipe and try a plum upside down cake. thanks, gloria, for broadening my baking horizons!

Very good and moist. Next time I will mix some flour in with the plums before I add it to the batter. Most of the plums ended up at the bottom of the bread. I also dusted the pans with cinnamon and sugar.

THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE LOAF!!! The only thing that I changed was the baking time to suit my oven and loaf pans. I was lucky to have fresh lemons on hand to grate in some zest, because I thought it gave it a special touch that I wouldn't want to leave out.

The bread came out too moist, unlike a bread at all. The taste was a mixed reaction. A bit disappointing but it has potential if adjustments to the recipe were made.

Made a pan, and it's gone in one day!! Changes I made were, using nonfat milk instead of buttermilk, not using pecans, and using an extra cup of plums (2 1/2 total) YUM!!!!! :)

It is very good bread. I substituted half of the oil for apple sauce and added some cinnamon to the dough. It came out delicious. The streusel topping gave it a nice crunch. Thank you for rec.

I made this recipe, and although it was delicious, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The end result was a moist, very sweet loaf that wasn't very firm when I sliced it. I think I'll tinker with the recipe to get a firmer, less sweet loaf. I'll probably reduce the sugar and the oil.

Really, really good. Good flavor and texture. Love the topping. Next time I will lightly dust the plums to help keep them from falling to the bottom during baking. Alton Brown suggested this when making Blueberry muffins. Either way, the recipe is a keeper. I will try this recipe when peaches, nectarines or apricots are in season too. It really is good.

Very yummy! I wish I had this recipe years ago, would've came in handy with us having a plum tree! I love the burst of plum and the lemon zest is a must, don't leave it out. Next time I'll try reducing the oil by a 1/4 C.

Wonderful, moist, tasty and easy to make. However, since it is February, I substituted granny smith apples and it was still wonderful. I did check the breads after 50 minutes in the oven and they were definitely done. I believe you could use any kind of in-season fruit in this and have success. This is really exceptional. How great that you even get two loaves out of the recipe! Thanks so much.

This bread tastes great and was super moist...so moist that it fell apart quite easily. Maybe it was the plums I used (prune plums). I'll try again with fewer plums and see if it holds up better.

This is really good and I would give 5 stars if only it wasnt soooo moist. That might be my fault though as I used applesauce instead of oil. I made as muffins and a bread I actually prefer the muffins. The taste though is very nummy and after 2 batches of muffins and 1 loaf bread I made last night its all gone!! I'm going to make again this weekend but I think I will cut down a bit on the applesauce and maybe also a bit on the plumbs. So Made again today as bread and used no applesauce and no oil. Halved the flour with whole wheat and pureed the plums so not so chunky. Still very moist and so much healthier!

This is a very, very moist bread. It actually has more of a coffee cake taste to me. I've got more plums than I know what to do with, so I'll be making several batches of this to freeze and gift out. Thanks for the recipe!

I was looking for a way to use up the many plums that I have on hand before they go bad, and I happened upon this recipe. I followed the recipe, substituting some apple sauce in place of the oil, and it turned out wonderful. The bread is very moist! I made only one loaf, and six muffins. I preferred the muffins, and they were delicious even after a couple of days.
