Great (soft) granola bar! In place of oil i used apple sauce and in place of honey (not a huge fan) i used pumkin butter (apple butter would work too) Used 1 tsp of cinnamon (just cause)...Thanks for the great recipe !

I finally tried these after seeing them recommended so many times! Very good. I stayed close to the recipe using less brown sugar as so many recommended. I just made them again and beefed them up adding milled flaxseed in lieu of wheat germ, slivered almonds, chopped dried apples and subbed applesauce for the oil. You really can't got wrong with these. I put them in individual baggies in a bowl by the fruit so they stay chewy and are available to grab running out the door. Thank you! So easy and so good!

I followed recipe exactly. Delicious! Took out at 30 mins and the ends were a little burnt so next time maybe 25 minutes.

I just tried these. They were so easy to make. The only problem I had was that I left them in the oven too long. I did it for 30 minutes as the recipe called for. Normally I check on stuff before it gets to the time as my oven cooks fast, but you know how it is with kids. Next time I will leave them in for 20 mins and go from there, and will probably add nuts, or choc chips etc. Very good. They were chewy the next day (not too chewy, just perfect) despite my leaving them in too long. I also used the whole grain oats. Very very good. Will be making these for my husbands co-workers this weekend :)

Left out raisins. These are fab just they way they are. Bake them the recommended time because they're supposed to be crunchy. (I think)

I only bake these for 18-20 minutes, just until the edges start to brown. This way my toddler with just a few teeth can eat them. I also used just a 1/2 c brown sugar and round up the cinnamon to 1tsp, Craisins to 1 c (don't like raisins), salt to 1tsp. Just simpler this way. They have become a staple food item in our house! We experiment with adding chocolate chips, flax seed, etc. Hard to mess up!

These seem to me more like cookie bars than granola bars, but the flavor is awesome. My tweaks: I cut the honey by half and used biscoff (like peanut butter) spread for the other half. I used peanut butter chips instead of raisins, almond meal instead of wheat germ, and 2 scoops of protein shake mix to pump up the protein. Also, I made these with my stand mixer instead of mixing by hand, and it was super easy. they were oven ready before the oven had even preheated.

Use a flexible baking spatula to mix, spread and flatten into the dish. No mess and no waste that way. The mixture got pretty brown around the edges at 350 so with about 10 minutes left I turned the heat down about 25 degrees. That solved it but maybe next time I will cook it at 325 for the 30 minutes. I got 18 good size bars out of the batch only and only trimmed one short end off that baked too much. My kids liked them. I was only relatively satisfied with the flavor and texture. But so far I haven't found a granola bar recipe that is perfect. But I'm making for the kids and if they like them then that's good enough for me.
