My family loves these and they have become a staple at our house as well. I use whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. Craisens are also good in the bars. I use coconut oil for the vegetable oil. Very tasty!

Remind me more of a bar cookie than a granola bar but overall good texture and flavor.

These are really good! My family and i love them, and spread with a little peanut butter, they really keep you going with protein, carbs, fiber and a bit of fat. I ran out of wheat germ so i just used an extra 1/4 cup of flour. I had substituted whole wheat flour. I also decreased both the honey, oil and the brown sugar to 1/3 of a cup because i don't like things too sweet, and i wanted to lower the calories. They turned out declicious, though. The only thing was they're a bit crumbly, and a bit dense. That may have been from the adjustments i made, so i gave them 4 stars.

Hi, this is my first review, made these on Monday night & am so chuffed at how great they turned out! I read all the previous reviews & decided on half oil, half apple sauce, half the amount of sugar, wheatbran instead of wheatgerm. Added fruit, nuts, sunflower seed, peanut butter & choc chips. Husband has request more peanut butter & chips for next time. These are really filling I got 24 squares from the recipe. Thanks for the recipe & all the invaluable tips, great for a novice!

I love these granola bars! I've made them multiple times, but my favorite alteration of this recipe was using dried cherries and golden raisins instead of regular old purple raisins, and I also added about 1/4 cup of good quality cherry jam in the mix and only used about a 1/4 cup of honey and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Every one of my family and friends who tried them LOVED them-the health freaks and the sweet-tooths alike :]

They were really crunchy, and I would have liked for them to come our more chewy. I plan on trying again, but will use a 9x9 cake pan so they go in thicker, and hopefully come out chewier :) Great base reciepe for granola bars, very accomodating for everyones tastes :)

Super delicious! I did not have wheat germ on hand but I added in some coconut, sesame and chopped walnuts and the resulting product was superb! Will definitely make those again and again.

Very easy to make. We did not add the raisins, but did add in some mini chocolate chips. My husband and 3 and 1 year old girls loved them. In fact my youngest daughter kept going back to the container asking for "mo". Thanks for the great recipe...we will definitely be making more!

I found these bars far too sweet for my liking (and I love sweet things). I also prefer crunchier bars. But my husband seemed to like them.

I made these hoping to save money over buying boxed granola bars....it started out as a great idea, until I realized they were so good they didn't even last long enough to store away! Next time I'll definitely make a double or triple batch.

I've made these 3 times and I love them. I didn't have (still don't have) wheat germ, so I subbed flax seed & used dried blueberries twice and dried cherries once. I'm about to make them again, they're great on the go breakfast bars!

I made these on a greased jelly roll pan, but just spread into a rectangle (didn't reach the edges), since I wanted them on the thinner side. Added dried cranberries and used oat bran instead of wheat germ. This could not have been easier to make, either. The best granola (or granola bar) recipe I have ever tried!

made this according to recepie for the kids. than since the adults love to pick at the kid food. i made a batch with dried cranberry, almonds, sunflower seeds.they both turned out so yummy. i had to give out the recepie to everyone there. it was also very cheap, and easy. if your looking for a playdate treat this one is #1 on my top ten things to bring.

I made these for the first time 2 months ago and my husband and baby love them so much I've made them every week since. I cut the brown sugar to 1/2 cup and usually add coconut and almonds. I am sensitive to wheat so substituted rice flour in place of the flour and wheat germ. I will never go back to store bought granola now!

LOVE IT! I have been really burnt out on store bought granola bars for a long time, and I don't know if I'll ever go back. The flavor is so much better, and mine turned out the perfect chewiness. I added all sorts of things: almonds, flax seeds, pecans, chocolate chips, and some other things I can't even remember. Cut the brown sugar to about 1/3c, and used wheat flour instead of white. I also took them out of the oven before they were done and cut them with a buttered knife, then put them back until they were done and then cut them on the same lines again before they cooled. I froze them while they were still a tad warm so they would keep some of the moisture. Ate one today during a hike and I was so pleased.

These are great, I don't usually like bars like this but these had a really nice flavour. The only things I changed were to use wholemeal flour, some sunflower seeds as well and I used 1/4 cup brown sugar and they were still sweet.

These were so yummy!! I did put in Chocolate chips in instead of raisins. They didn't turn out crumbly at all, but I did press them down into the pan before I baked them. These are a huge hit with my family and kids that I babysit for.
